Well I got my C905 in October and I posted here the ear piece packed in. It was sent away for a repair where they updated the software and put a brand new earpiece in it's place.

Here we are two months on and my ear piece has no sound in a call yet again. It seems to be software as hitting 'C' brings sound back.

I feel very angry. They just can't get it right this is yet another K850i all over again. Both great phones but virtually no reliability.

I'm thinking of selling up and moving to LG or something? as much as I love Sony Ericsson if they don't work what good are they to me? Unless somebody has found a fix for this ear piece fiasco?

This is the same phone which went faulty first time and was repaired. You just wouldn't believe it.

It seems they are replacing the faulty ones with the same earpiece. It obv. needs moddifying somehow to stop it happening.

Anything else went wrong with your phone?

So is it best holding off for a software update?

It's looking like another repair but I'm afraid I may decide to sell up now as if it's went wrong twice it will only keep doing it.

Just had the same problem. The 'C' button appears to do the trick - but it is so cumbersome....going to have to take it back.

A bit of a update.

Took it to SE repair centre last week. Got a phone call today they need to order parts could be upto 10 days then fitting time so by the time it comes back I will have been about three weeks with no C905.

I have a LG Viewty as a spare phone for the moment.

Further update:

Still No C905. They were unable to repair it this time, parts were fitted but it would still not work.

It's now back at SE and they hope to give me a new one. Any chance the new models have less faults?

I have been some time with no C905 now.

Se80 just getting back to you, i got my phone back after about 5 days? Same model they just repaired it. I did get the email saying we have no stock in of the earpieces but got it back two days later. Seems weird how long its taking? I also had a problem with the screen dying when i slided the phone.
Update coming this month it'll be worth waiting 4

So, has it been established if this is a HW or SW problem yet? I'm reading conflicting information in different threads.

If pressing the 'c' button brings back the sound to the ear piece then is it not just a SW problem and if this is the case then why are people being advised to wait on spare parts?

All very confusing. :???

From what I gather it is hardware.

If the parts were fitted and still never worked. It could be intervened that the software isn't suitable for the type of ear peice or something.

Certainly it can't be as simple a fault as made out if SE have my phone back.

Personally, I beileave all these problems (earpiece, screen etc.) are caused by a faulty flex cable.

mine has had the earpiece problem, and i'm off shortly to collect mine from carphone warehouse. Just hope i dont experience this fault again after being repaired but i got a feeling and reading what other people have said that it will happen again.
