Hi forum users,

I would like to enquire about known compatibility issues with the Sony Ericsson C905 handset and Mac OS X.

I am hoping to connect a C905 handset to my Powerbook G4 which is running Mac OS 10.4.2 - I would like to transfer images and mp3s via usb 1.0.

I have asked Sony Ericsson tech support but they were not very helpful due to 'the competition between sony and apple'

thanks in advance,

Josh

The C905 works fine with Mac OS X - however you should update to Mac OS X 10.4.11 which is a free update from Apple here:

http://support.apple.com/downloads/Mac_OS_X_10_4_11_Update__PPC_

Mac OS X 10.4.2 is over two years out-of-date for 10.4.x releases and as 10.4.11 is a free update there's no reason not to upgrade.

An iSync Plugin to allow syncing of Contacts and Calendars is available here:

You should have no problems transferring images and MP3's via USB. You just connect the phone in "File Transfer" or "Mass Storage" mode and then drag and drop the files. Alternatively, you can transfer files via Bluetooth using the Macs Bluetooth File Exchange utility.

On www.feisar.com there is also a whole load of additional information on using Sony Ericsson phones with Macs.
