I'm frustrated. My touch screen on my W960 stopped responding just like that. I can't answer calls, not flip to File transfer mode to do backup of files since I can't aknowledge the switch from Normal mode. I had to go thru File manager with 1 hr of waiting. I can't even reset the phone in a try to make the problem disappear.
Now I've sent it in for service.

Have anyone else had this problem and how did U solve it?

I sent my G900 in for warranty a while back. Touchscreen was broken as well. Still haven't got it back thanks to my mates at Vodafone... >_>

I had the same problem and since I had warranty, I sent it back and got a replacement unit.

Happened to my screen twice, once it took 3 days to come back! Then someone from SE told me to reset the firmware and upon selecting a language i couldn't press the middle selection as the jog dial wouldn't do it! They fixed it for me though, could be a problem with the actual touch screen, or the LCD, but most likely the touch screen if the LCD looks intact. Try and get it replaced under warranty

I guess it's a hardware problem maybe the cable it can be many things affecting the material. But what let you think that it's related to the software ... I mean is it your phone behaviour/ responding to requests or you just thought so

Having been around on this forum for a while, I can say that this problem has usually come down to the connector from the screen to the mainboard of the phone being loose. If you're brave enough, then open the phone up and reseat it. Seems to have happened to more W960s than anything else, so I guess it's a minor design flaw in the model.

I'm a P1 owner myself, so can't give you instructions as to disasembley, but there must be a tutorial in the archives somewhere...

Mine is now on the way to SE service. I hope they woun't replace it since I wasn't able to do a full back up. For that you need to use the touch screen... =/

Happens to me all the time when I drop it.

Take the battery out and place alot of pressure on the back of the phone like you are trying to snap the phone in half (not hard enough to actually do it though) and the connector will pop back in.

Hey, It happened several times to me too (especially when I sit on it by accident because the phone is in my back pocket).

What I do is you just use both your thumbs and put pressure everywhere on the phone. Make sure your phone is not locked, so you will see when the connector will be reconnected and beable to use your touch screen again.
