for the best result you can use:

format: *.mp4
codec: MPEG4 simple profile
video bitrate: 400 kbps
video framerate: 25
audio bitrate: 96 kbps
audio channels: stereo

almost all converters that can convert to .mp4 have those settings...

Here are my settings using SUPER...

I'm using XVid because i'm on R3BA035 firmware, i think i've read somewhere else that SE removed XVID support in more recent firmwares, if that's the case, you can try using H.264.

Good luck!

Well, i think it also supports wmv, it definitely does not support avi...

About the conversion problem, it might be due to the settings used to convert it, also the original video format could have had some influence... It has happened to me sometimes that the converted video is just half length or so of the source video, normally this happens when i try to convert wmv to mp4, but only in some instances, i have successfully converted wmv to mp4 with super by tweaking the settings a bit.

it supports wmv, mp4(h.264, h.263), 3gp, real video

400 kbps is very low use

700 bit rate on 20 fps with 340x170(widescreen) or
850 bitrate on 15fps with 340x170(widescreen)
