Hi Guys,

ok geotagged pics taken on the C702 view in Google maps on the phone correctly.

If however I transfer them to the PC & upload to Picasa the Exif Fields for Lat & Long are blank

Any ideas where SE saves this info please?

Bumping an old topic because I have the same issue. Forgive me if the answer was somewhere I forgot to look.

Such a shame. What fw version do you have tranced? I'm running R3DA029, its the latest one for my region via SEUS. Don't feel like flashing it yet. Will do some more geotagging experiments later.

Alright just did some small tests:

- GPS Status info running in the background with GPS fix:

"Globe" icon in camera mode displays a red arrow.

- GPS Status info not running:

"Globe icon in camera mode displays a red arrow.

With both settings I've waited for several minutes for the camera mode's "globe" to get a green arrow, this did not happen.

I will not consort to read the manual, and report back here.

1- the sattelite shows 2 green indicator bars(waves )

2- the globe has a red stripe: this is a representative icon of the "geotagging feature".

it works fine with the bundled google maps. now it doesnt with the esato photo gallery nor any other gallery.

does the indicator at the sattelite needs to be stronger or what?

I don't know i geotagged that photo aswell first one that acually worked almost properly, the geotag is completey incorrect though, i was using the R3DA031 firmware i had the status info running for a while & google maps running a while before it, i closed google maps but left the status info on turned the geotagging on and took a pic.

To view the geotagging info on my C905 and C702 pics I use Irfanview (Free download from download.com) and then the EXIF info plugin, it shows the co-ordinates then on there.

When you upload a pic to Flickr or Panoramio (the Google Maps picture uploader) it automatically places the photo on the map.

I will try Flickr, I've tried with picasa but it didnt use any geotags. Will let you know if Flickr does the trick.

Edit:

Just uploaded a picture to Flickr, but no cigar. Infranview doesnt show any geotags in the exif info, no coordinates or anything... Will try again with new photo's.
