i just bought the x1, i live in saudi arabia and local numbers e.g. are 0505123456 and the same number international is +966505123456 very slight change in the begining. Most of my numbers are saved as the international format with the +966 and when im in saudi and someone calls me, their 050 number shows up as an unknown contact even though they are saved on my phone as +966(whatever their number is). in previous models sony ericsson is smart enough to distingush that its the same person, but not with the X1, can anyone help me.......

I have seen the same mess with telephone numbers on Xperia (or Wm6.1 ?) here in Sweden.
It doesn't recognise +4666012345 as the same as 066012345, P990 had no problems with this.
The quick fix as I see it is to change all contacts (well, quicker than SE or MS fixing the bug anyway..)

I may be off base here, but I believe there is a setting for the phone that allows you to set the amount of digits that caller id uses for matching. I have never changed this parameter and not sure if it's modification would help your problem. But, I would mess around with that before re-formatting all of your contacts. |
