Hope someone can help.

I've had the C905 since the week it came out and have been happy with it so far. Everything has worked as it should. The latest firmware came out and after reading a few opinions I installed it, that's when the problems started.

Predictive text was acting up, not making the words it should ect. Battery would work one day, then drain in two hours. So I decided to install the latest firmware again, in case the install had gone wrong. Now the wifi wont work.

It wont find any networks, even when I manually input a network it wont connect, The phones mac address reads as 00:00:00:00:00:00. I know that's the problem, I just don't know how to fix it.

Anyone got any ideas?

Tried that, and it had no effect. It's been the same for a few days, but oddly when I switched the phone on this morning the mac address was back to normal????

I have exactly the same problem with my wifi on my c905. The wi-fi doesnt pick a single thing up although it has in the past. Orange sent out a new setting to me for video messaging and now the wifi doesnt work at all!!? How frustrating. If anyone finds something out, please let me know how you done it. Cheers

Do you have bluetooth enabled at the same time? If so try switching that off.

Mine has been ok getting wifi so far, but I only got the phone last Saturday. I am more concerned with this apparent earpiece problem that is like a sword of damocles!

Hello. I am new to the site. I have a C905 and the MAC address suddenly turned to all "00 00 00 00" after an update to the phones software.
Does anyone know how to correct this? I have tried resetting it many times in different ways and it does not help!!!

p.s. And don't even try the Sony Ericsson "help" line. They will refer to your local operator, who will in turn, refer you back to Sony!!!!!!

Try connection to an AP that lets you see the MAC address of the phone. I tried this, and even though the phone says 00:00:00:00:00:00 the AP reported a valid MAC address.
If you get the same result as I, then the connection problem is not related to the MAC address. To me it seems there is a bug in the SW that shows the MAC address.

I hate to bump an old thread but I have the EXACT same problem. Mac address is 00:00:00:00:00 and no access points appear when I search for them. I tried manually connecting to my AP and getting the MAC that way, but it seems as though the phone doesn't even TRY and connect.

The phone is brand new, and I just picked it up yesterday. I did try flashing the generic firmware to it instead of the Chinese one that was previously flashed to it, but it doesn't appear to have changed anything.

Anyone else have any ideas?

I've just turned mine on and the mac address come up straight away. Master reset, if that doesn't work take it back. I know from reading threads on here that some C905s have issues with the WiFi. Some have a short range and some work brilliantly.

Ugh, I was afraid of that answer. I'll have to send this back to CHINA to get a new one since I bought it on eBay.

I'll go MAD waiting another two weeks for the replacement.

I think I'm going to try and downgrade/reflash a different firmware and if that doesn't work send it back...

Good luck! Its a great phone. I'm using mine more than I'm using my new Satio, I love it.
