Has anyone noticed there screen darkening temporarily on their G900?? (not screensaver !!)
It makes it hard to make out some text and icons are darkened.

I don't think that it is related with your fw version, as if it were, you would have seen a lot of people here talking about this issue.

I would say that this is being caused by a 'bad' 3rd party app.
If not ilock, well, it could be another one.

Try to find out..

Hey, I have the same problem. It began with my display being much darker than usual (the colours, not really the backlight) and now it doesnt display anything. The phone turns on fine but cant hear or see anything on it. Searched around and found nothing about how to solve it.

I noticed though that when I press down really hard just above and to the left of the "3" key, the display responds. Still false colours, but it comes on and I can see whats happening on the phone. Sound comes on as well.

This gave me the idea of opening the phone and checking the display connection. The connector is in fact right below the place I said I pushed down. But unplugging and reconnecting it didnt help. Neither did stacking paper on top of it to increase pressure, in fact this caused the display not to turn on at all (even when pressing down the 3).

Has anyone else experienced the same thing? Does replacing the display help? Sorry for the lengthy post but im desperate for a solution

@cableguy
How did it work out with your phone? Did you get it fixed by sony directly?

Same problem for me....display darkens and after sometime the phone restarts.
Have sent it twice to SE for repair...first time they just upgraded the firmware...no change...so i sent it back..
It's still with them...i'll be collecting it in a couple of days...will inform if the problem is solved..

Yeah its seems its a fault in the lcd of the G900, if i were you i would ring your repair centre and get them to replace the lcd.
firmware wont fix it.

Called em up...they asked for a couple more days...said they were replacing the motherboard and display...

I guess you were right cableguy...lets see if it works out...

Have anyways placed the order for the 5800XM...this will just be my backup phone now...lost faith in SE unfortunately since the UIQ debacle..
