Vulcan is due this year so that means on the shelves whereas Rachael is out in 2010, a miracle if we get it in 2009. Those hoping for a custom UI for Vulcan should not wish for too much. The 'panels' UI was quite slow the last time I saw. They do look nice and do provide a good amount of information but for me, I think it only wastes resources. I'm all for panels but only if there is no lag like on the X1, even more powerful phones will lag with the X1 panels UI. If you look at TouchFLO 3D 2.6 Manilla, you see that you can do nearly all things without any hint of WinMo which is where would like to be.

Also, at the moment WinMo 6.5 will not support capacitive screens but there are plans to have capacitive screen support in early 2010 while WinMo 7 should make the leap. Not sure about Vulcan but at least you know that the Vulcan replacement will have a capacitive screen.

The latest Satio phones are very smooth, playing with these I say that if you like Symbian than there is no other like Satio. Nokia will have high end Symbian N-series phones but Satio is very pretty and have done a fine customisation job to the UI. Camera and Walkman/media interface is superb.

Aino is constantly having updates and stuff, I quite like the phone and something that I noticed was the fantastic sound. A fellow Esatonian (thanks for the PM) has given me a possible reason as to why it sounds better than the W995. Also good stuff with regards to video.

Also, at the risk of being shot there is a phone coming with a strange design in early 2010. My source says, 'Its like Marmite, you'll either love it or it will make you puke uncontrollably until you pass out'. I think he doesn't like it but then again, some ladies find Sven Goren Ericsson irresistible.

Well dumbphones seem to be the established term for feature phones these days. I don't really see what's wrong with calling them that. It's not like we're insulting the phone, it's just a play on words because it's the opposite of smartphone.

when i have time i need to dig on smartphone that actually dumb

example...Pre OS3 iphone...can't MMS....dumber than dumbphone hahaha

now Nuvi garmin phone too having a version that can't do MMS

P1...you can,t get the LED light up as flash light which many dumb phone can

I remember some old MS based smartphone can't support better display (i think until WM6.1? still 65k only) and better camera module (that's why many stuck with 3mpx) but i dont want to comment much since i don't follow the story on MS phone

so...sometimes not only dumber try to act smart by getting smart phone but phone manufacturer also act dumb when designing a smartphone

Aino has QVGA, nHD and VGA.
The best mobile phone brand died with Sony Ericsson's death. Shame on you Sony for killing it! And, of course, for ruining the Xperia brand...

nHD is actually a little worse res than VGA so don't be fooled.

I want to know if Aino feels fast though. Is the interface smooth and is the TS capcitive? I remember seeing that it's not flush, judging from the images on the SE site, but in my opinion there's no reason why it can't be.
I have a dig bick

Maybe 28-29 October 2009 for Symbian smartphones
http://www.see2009.org/

Just an assumption, don't count on that.

Indeed, symbian show doesn't necessarily mean we can see SE smartphones being announced, the only phone that was announced at that conference was the P990.

I have a feeling that Rachael will be announced at MWC 2010

https://gullfoss2.fcc.gov/pro[....]t_id=1156471&native_or_pdf=pdf

found this on FCC today.

J105

https://gullfoss2.fcc.gov/pro[....]t_id=1156469&native_or_pdf=pdf

they put a request to hide external and internal info for 180days from July 30....

anyway I guess no one interested on J series but question is what to be out together with this.

The approval is on 850/1900 and bt bandwidth.
