You've got to have a dream to quote the song. I'm hoping that the silence is mearly an effort at regrouping around stronger devices. The end of May will be telling, but they've a long way to go to catch up and SE was leading with tech not so long ago.
I'm faced with having to buy a cameraless phone for work and will have to move to Nokia because the G700I BE is so hard to get hold of. I guess this is what happens when you walk away from UIQ and throw so many in development handsets down the toilet. Come on SE! |

@santa- That would be super cool, as we dont have any candybar 8 mp phones yet. May well end up being a super success. Se are going right now. Now we only need a few touch phones and SE are on their way. |

Sounds good.
Though I'm not that happy with the decrease of the feature-phone share. I think SE's own OS is still hardly beaten. I like it more than WinMo in terms of speed, usability, looks etc. and I don't think Symbian Foundation will beat it on that area's. The only two OSs that are better are the iPhone OS, Android and Palms WebOS IMO. Pity. |

Ericsson chief executive Carl-Henric Svanberg said partner Sony would be a "logical buyer" for Ericsson's half of handset making joint venture Sony Ericsson, the Financial Times reported on Thursday.
Steep losses from the venture have spurred investor talk the parents were agonizing over the future of their offspring.
However, both companies told the paper they were ready to inject more money into the venture if needed.
Sony Ericsson, the world's fifth largest cellphone maker, is suffering from its strong focus on music and camera phones, which have been hurt the most in the economic downturn, and it has said it would focus more on top-end smartphones.
Sony Ericsson said in April it would stick to its plans to use three different operating systems -- Symbian, Google's Android and Microsoft's Windows Mobile -- to make smartphones.
In the midst of recession and shrinking cellphone demand its three-way bet is seen as too costly in the market and Sony Ericsson's chief Hideki Komiyama told the Financial Times the company may cut the number.
Komiyama hinted Microsoft's position would be unsure on the list, calling X1, its only Microsoft phone so far, "a kind of experiment."
Sony Ericsson has benefited over the years from Sony's Walkman and Cybershot brands and Komiyama said also gaming phones, using Playstation brand, "could happen." (Reporting by Tarmo Virki; Editing by Dan Lalor)

SE's own OS is one of the best things about the company IMO, it needs to be developed further although going by the above graph a touch screen version is on the way.

Indeed, SE's own OS is great but as the time passes it needs alot of refresh, LG's and Samsung's UI has developed and now offers better eye candy (in 3D form) than SE although they lost in terms of SE's greatest strength so far: java technology.

there are a few problems with a ps phone. 1st, the games. as hw gud they'd hav 2 b. probably psp standard(or iphone-y). 2nd, that would make it in direct competition with the psp.

It'd make sense to put PSP1 tech into a phone once PSP2 is out. |
