I know that it lacks a smartphone, but cummon, its not doing THAT bad.The X1 is quite e good smartphone and the C905,G705 etc are quite capable non-smartphones.As said, we will see more smartphones next year, as of now, feature wise, SE is oing quite fine.

Ill be sticking to My K850i till they make an 8mp candybar with a reasonable thickness (hopefully thinner then my k850i) or a reasonably sized, well designed Android phone.

Well I think SE has to bring a Xperiaphone like 5800/HTC TouchHD/so on.

@ SE-nothing new-discussion:
I like the new phones especially the w902. The only thing I miss is more speed (cpu, ram) and customizable stylish A-platform.
Since W810i I have the same menu, animations.....

i know that nokia is a forbidden word here, so i just continue and hope that you all get what im saying:

yesterday the big swede N announced a phone that i feel is a more natural progression to the N95 being the N97. It was sometime ago in the 2008 thread that we were asked what we would want to see from SE in the coming year, i remember clearly and not so concisely saying that i would want 32-64GB on board AND EXPANDABLE (i mean how hard is it to have on board and a slot, not very SE needs to not gimp their phones, by extension their customers, and finally themselves when they put out cheap plastic toys when other companies are pushing for connected mobile computing)... looks like the wrong company heard my plea!

- side note, some were quick to criticize (either a) stuck on SE's lap or b) couldnt move themselves into the future for the lack of creativity or their subjective practicality (being they had no use, so why would anyone else need that much storage)) me for my future list of specs/features.

well it didnt take the year that i thought it would (esp with flash getting smaller, cheaper, faster, higher density it was a matter of time) and we now have a phone that truly defecates on the rumors of SE phones weve heard so far, now mind you its still very early but if SE was behind with paris they need to shoot for the quasars cuz there is NO chance they are putting anywhere near that amount of storage in a phone (let alone effort), which they NEED to do as well as a proper cam + DRIVERS for it. but this message was written to those naysayers who apparently have no imagination, next time you criticize me for something I want to see, esp when asked I should hope i dont get lambasted for pushing ahead.

SE has a MOUNTAIN to climb, Mont Bland/K2/Everest if they are to be competitive ... but they need to OVERSHOOT their target which if i was running their RD would be multiplied by 2x at least, there has to be a REASON for ppl to come back to the brand, and mediocre run of the mill average products that come to the market late or after other brands have been shipping for months only cannibalizes their potential and this is the furthest thing from their plans with 8gb music phones ... ill pass and get a microSDHC card thanks. its laughable at best, what happened, im sure the japanese phones from SE dont get laughed out of existence by the internet (paris) so why would they even approach the EU/US/Asia markets with inferior products? SE needs to step their game up, and right now i dont think they realize how they need to move.

SE come at the same feature level of nokia!
VGA recording,hvga displays...

anyone know if during all 2009 we can see a SE MULTITOUCH DEVICE?(so the same sensibility of IPHONE touchscreen)
or any device with NVIDIA chip like this?
http://it.youtube.com/watch?v=8NNsK2wucG0
or with micro projector

anyway
display SE with WVGA resolution in 16M colors and jack 3,5mm

SE with 256k colors does great with me.i tottally digg th xtra battery life. And anyway,16m devices cat beat SE's 256k phones. So whats the big deal? VGA recording and a 3.5mm jack for walkmans would be a good ploy.

Well it wont hurt us if we have more right? have a look at those Japanese SE phones with 16M WVGA displays and i'm sure you will be blown away with the outstanding quality they produces.

3.5mm jack is indeed very useful feature now but it'll be better to have fast-port + 3.5mm combo. and for VGA video for as long as it's stereo sound like what C905 and C902 has then i won't complain even if it's resolution is a little smaller than the D1 res-mono sound that LG and Samsung is implementing. we need quality more than quantity right?

agree with you razec.

quality first before quantity.
that should be the mantra of SE for '09.

the last mobile phone (afaik) that featured video rec with stereo sound was n93.
every other handset released there after has concentrated on improving the resolution. The audio part was kinda neglected.

and its nice to see gives attention to stereo sound in video recording
