For as long as SE will not install an audio chip that could make this music phone a real performer in audio department then this is a complete waste imo. i also heard from the previous posts that this will only record QVGA 30fps - that sucks bigtime

SE once again is trying to release a product which has a bad style .it looks to me as a streched w595 no creative what so on.specification might cheer you but looks is terable .what a waste of product. |

Me neither.
Nice to see that they finally made it to 3.5mm jack stage.
Does anyone know if it is going to have the same ARM9 CPU that all the other SEphones uses? Or does they use ARM11 now? |

If that IS Hikaru then it isn't a smart phone looking at it. Oh well keep on waiting, that X1 with the SPD shell is looking more tempting all the time so long as it's price drops. |

I trust Mizzle that this one is a mock-up, however, if this is the one, then this has to be available in other colors. I hate the color on this |

Of course its a mock-up. Anyone can see its computer rendered.
I think it looks really nice and I would seriously consider coming back to the Walkman fold for this, if it actually has the same specifications as what we've heard.
You can't expect much more than what this offers from a feature phone really. In fact, I don't think anyone on here could name a feature phone with better specs than this.

IMO, Hikaru doesn't have a "killer" design. But it's nice anyways.

It seems GSMArena knows a bit more than we do about Hikaru. Or they're making stuff up...
"Beside the extra large screen, Hikaru will also feature Wi-Fi and GPS plus a 3.5mm audio jack - a first for the Sony Ericsson Walkmans. Additionally, it should be noted that it runs on the regular Sony Ericsson feature phone interface, and IT IS NOT a smartphone.
The Sony Ericsson Hikaru also comes with the latest Walkman player, version 4.0, stereo speakers and dedicated music keys.
Finally, the Sony Ericsson Hikaru will have a kickstand at the back, near the digital camera, (Nokia N96-style but cooler), which can come in handy for watching videos in landscape mode on the desk."
So according to them, Wi-Fi and GPS are confirmed, as well as a "cooler than N96" kickstand.

Oli, I could've told you (and actually told you) that at the end of Oct 2008 (actual specs) and the mid of November 2008 (N96 kickstand) as it was all posted over at SEW by Waschbär (Raccoon) Rocky. |
