@ marc,
Thanks for that. . That tmobile deal does seem very good. I'm løøking for a change from my trusty n82. As theres nothing from se or nokia that seems substantially better. |

Hi,
enjoying the HD at the moment, but Touchflow is a bit hard to get used to.
For example, was trying to add some cites to the weather application, and flicking my finger gently over the screen, resulted in the page scrolling too quickly.
Maybe I need to RTFM and check some things out
Small sized photo's that maybe have been OK for use as contacts in the TyTn II will look awful! So re-doing photo's for contacts in Outlook has become necessary...
Big problem is CE-Star does not work.... so Japanese and Chinese unavailable for the time being...
Home screen perhaps could be more customisable, maybe there is a way, but not got to that as yet...

Hi everyone!
I am enjoying my Touch HD so far and have managed to get CE-Star working so I have my Japanese support back, for email, contacts, calendar and also for titles in mp3's
I do not see the point of writing a long review so I have posted links here to Slashgear's reviews.
part one here
part two here
From my own point of view, I do find the TouchFlow quite hard to get used to, but I have only used it since last evening.
For example, setting some cities in the weather application was good in some respects. You can touch from the list of letters a-z down the right side to get a list of countries then later cities, but when you want to find the city which is just off screen, the scrolling whizzes on past it !
Maybe just practice is required.
I was not successful with Tom Tom 6.03 and have no idea why. I also used google maps and even though the interface and screen looks great, I was positioned more than 1500 metres from my actual position.
Late last night, I tried google maps again, whilst sat in my study and the GPS positioned me in the centre of a quarry that is about a mile away !
There are a few threads at XDA on GPS here and here Garmin seems to have no problems !
Contacts pictures look great but some of mine were made small size for the TyTn II and now look grainy on the Touch HD.
There is some debate here at XDA about what size photo's are better.
One person recommends 256x256px 72dpi but another says that it still poor.
There is a utilities and programs thread that lists what works on the HD here at XDA.
Headset that comes in the box looks cool, but the design of those buds just do not stay in place for me. The mic and headphones are integral so to use your own you need a micro-usb adaptor......
I have not tested the sound quality as yet but initial impressions are good via my headphones, although the built in speak is a bit tinny.
If I think of anything else, I will post again!

Hi!
let me know how you get on with Tom Tom because mine 6.03 would not work.
I installed via Tom Tom Home, it found my Touch HD, and installed maps etc... but would not launch.

Only problem ive got is since ive not had a windows mobile for a while and in that time ive switched to mac ..all my apps are on my other machine hard drive.
Anyone else use a mac with a winmo phone?
if so how do you go about installing ppc software with it mostly being .exe's
Is it a matter of extracting the .cab file and chucking it on the SD?
Thanks

Hi!
sorry, I have never used a Mac.
Sounds correct, about extracting cab's but I am not experienced enough to be sure about it.

I had a touch diamond and in the end ended up selling it as I just could not get used to having a touch screen for texting
However i noted what you said about the cities in the weather. I always kept selecting random ones by mistake lol!

Hi spikeyjac!
I am getting used to it! I often use the stylus for input and rarely used the hard buttons in keyboard on my TyTn II...

I've been thinking about getting me some of these
Anyone ever tried them? should imagine they would come in handy on such a device!
