Is this O2 Mobileweb username for faster mobile internet? |

Apologies for the rather vague title, couldn't think of a better one!
Knowing that O2 with some users are throttling their HSDPA speeds to 128kb/s (Assuming they're still doing that?), I've come across a different username to put into your Mobileweb settings.
If you change the username from 'O2web' to 'faster' does this mean you then get the full HSDPA speeds that O2 do rather than the throttled version? When I've tried it it does seem faster, though not sure if that's just my perception and the 'placebo effect' where I think something's working better when it is in fact not.
Try it if you're on O2, see if it increases your mobile browsing speeds and report back! Or, can someone confirm if this username does improve speeds?

Thanks for the link imazz, just run the test twice on the phone my sim's currently in (a W880i, 3G) and got:
O2web as username: 129kb/s, 131kb/s
Faster as username: 123kb/s, 1155b/s
So for it's slower if anything, but the 3G/HSDPA signal where I live is quite variable and often drops back to a GPRS connection (Got one result of 9kb/s lol!)
I'm going to have another go with this phone upstairs where I'll hopefully get a better signal, also I'm going to try that speed test in my HSDPA-equipped W760i too.

Had another go with the W880i upstairs, got similar results using either password. I then put my sim into my W760i, and again got similar results:
All with an HSDPA signal of around 2-4 bars on the W760i, stood by upstairs window.
O2web as username:
517kb/s, 636kb/s
Faster as username:
558kb/s, 564kb/s (also one result of 216kb/sec, probably due to weak signal/network demand?)
So, in my experience the results are fairly similar - if anything the O2web password seems slightly faster unless it's just a vaguery of the results/network conditions!
I would be interested to hear others' experiences with this, if they experience any increase/decrease in performance with these passwords.

I have a w880i and a c702 and get similar results to you for the w880i.
I just got 262 kb/s and then 299 kb/s on the c702, it's usually about 350kb/s.
