When is this available, the new firmware that is?
Apparently some clarification is in order regarding the firmware mentioned in this thread. The current latest widely distributed firmware for P1 is R6G04. The firmware labeled as R6G05...

- is indeed present on the Emma server and can be installed;
- is not new, as indicated by its creation and modification dates that are several months old;
- belongs to the same baseline (R6G04) like the current firmware;
- correspondingly displays R6G04 upon installation as the organizer firmware version;
- does not have any striking difference from R6G04 (Opera version is 8.65.768);
- is likely to be just one of the many localized or otherwise modified variants of the R6G04 firmware.

So, I would say this thread is a false alarm. Which is no problem, but good to know

Do you guys really believes that SE will bring an update for the P1, W960i, G900, G700 that will have UIQ 3.3 in it?
I think it's a wish that'll never come true.

no, me neither...all we can expect in terms of updates now, for the P1 (and w960), has to be made by hackers...

regarding g700 and g900, i expect one more firmware (Zed can confirm that)

i was refering to the fact that you saw a new firmware for g700 on EMMA...and that normally means it will be out on SEUS, sooner or later....

That's correct, but happened quite a long time ago, and (if I remember correctly) it was released soon afterward on SEUS as well. Anyway, I will holler if I notice something interesting (although not checking regularly).

Just looked at the G700 that I updated at that time, its firmware is R6K835. Isn't that the one that added the Opera Flash Plug-in and available on SEUS?

I don't expect anything new from a P1i FW update.
I have never seen anything SE did like this before.
This will chop the new phone's sales.
So you shouldn't expect anything new as well.
Forever !!!
