Hi guys,
I asked this on another thread earlier but thought maybe it was in the wrond place so decided to start my own topic.
My 3 nokia phone broke so i bought a mates Sony K800i as i wasnt due for a new phone yet and had lots of time left on my 3 contract. The K800i works good apart from i cant find out how to connect to the Planet3 function. I find Planet3 usefull for the free browsing anfd checking my usage and stuff so would like to get it on the k800i of possible?
The K800i is unlocked but wasnt a 3 mobile phone origianally if that makes a differance. I tried to find some info on this and it seems that maybe new firmware is needed? Anyone willing to give me a simpletons guide to sorting this problem out?
Thanks for any advice guys |

Just go to the SE Settings website and get the settings from there. The Planet 3 website will be set as in your SE Browser Bookmarks as "Home". Here is the link:
http://www.sonyericsson.com/c[....]etailed/phonesetup?cc=ae&lc=en
Choose Mobile Internet.
Once you have set your settings up you can also go to http://mobile.three.co.uk/

its easy guys.
here:
-go to three.com
-click customer service
-update software
-k800i click settings instead of update software
-it'll link u to SE where u enter ur phone number and service provider
it'll then give u a pass code remember it
u will receive ur settings click install enter password.
then to access, go to k800i main menu, internet. left or right click dont remember which and it will hav planet three 3 bookmark at very top of list.
worked many times on my k800i and w910i.
its the same thing for mms although u cnt get the planet three button but the service can work =] |

@pete
Won't work because he doesn't have it in first place, it runs as an application

I've just had exactly the same problem, my old Nokia was playing up so bought a second hand K810i which was previously on Vodafone. This is not a "3 supported phone", but worked fine once the phone was unlocked, with everything but launcher working.
As you already have a 3 account you can visit "my three" area on your PC and go to the "contact 3" page. There is an option to "Chat with a tech advisor". You have to enter your phone number in etc, but they will send you the software which you just need to instal. They warned me it might not work with it not being a dedicated 3 network phone. I found that it wasn't connecting at first but on the phone, using the "more" button choose "3 services" and it will connect you up.
On my phone the only downside is that to get on to the internet each time, you have to wait until it has timed out trying to get on to Vodafone, before I can choose 3 services - this might be the case with yours too.
Just noticed that yours is the K800i - shouldn't make any difference to the above but yours is a 3 supported phone so it might be better/easier.
