I'm trying to get my old K750i to connect to the 'net via Opera Mini, but it won't! It will via the default browser (Used to to download Opera) but I get the message "Failed to connect to the internet" when I'm running Opera. This is the first time, so it seems to be installing the programme, I get the message after I click 'yes' to 'allow application to access the internet?'.

Is Opera Mini compatible with the K750i, or are my Orange pay as you go settings wrong? I'm using:

APN address: orangeinternet
APN add. (Old PAYG): payginternet
Username: user
Password: pass
Authentication: Normal

Email SMTP server: smtp.orange.net
Prim. DNS Server: 158.43.192.1

Tried both the current and old APN addresses with the same result. Also can't seem to get settings sent to the phone - SE's website says the K750i doesn't support having settings sent to the phone - but I'm sure I've done that in the past?

Any help appreciated!

Don't think those modded free internet browsers work in the UK!

Still no joy, any other ideas?

Have u tried changing the protocol settings?
In Opera goto Menu > tools > settings > protocol and change to http. And make sure in ur phone: settings > connectivity > internet settings > settings for java, that u selected the correct profile.
Hope that helps

Cheers for the advice I can't get into Opera to get into the menu, it's throwing up this error on the first installation and won't let me get any further.

Can't find this 'settings for Java' in that menu, have checked that It's set to 'HTTP' in the internet profiles.

I was reading on the Opera forum that quite a few users in Pakistan had a similar problem which might be caused by the Opera server being blocked, but don't think that's a problem in my case.

might be orange safeguard blocking it, call 450 or get the shop to do it for you (if you are over 18).

don't forget to wear a dirty rain mac if asking in the shop so anyone else in there can point at you (i joking), lol

The other thing to do is visit setup.orange.co.uk and resend the settings through.

What version of opera mini are you trying to install? Is it the v4.1? If yes, just use the mod v2.06.
