UIQ devices being superior to what S60 Nokia offered?! I want 5 of what you're on for Friday night!
read again, i did not say that...
nevertheless, Nokia/s60 still has nothing directly comparable to the p1 (ts + pysical keyboard)...

Hi all,
Well sorry but i really am amazed that anyone seriously thinks a Guitar Plectrum is meant to be used as a stylus on a device. The 5800 has a normal stylus and the option to use your fingers for input the Guitar Plectrum is so you can play Guitar Hero on your device as this will be one of the games available for it.
Seriously a Guitar Plectrum for a stylus just what are you guys smoking!!! how could that possibly be right or make any sense?
Marc

I like the look of this device I was keen on the X1 but I really have questions as to its ability to perform and I am not that keen on WM.
But this is Symbian and it looks like it might meet my requirements, as I only caught onto this thing yesterday does anyone know when it is due for release in the UK?

Do you have problems reading??? I praised the device, and i donīt deny it will sell like hotcakes!
I only consider UIQ is a superior and more elegant UI, and if SE was not run by monkeys they coud create superior devices. However UIQ is history now, so i might consider get one of these. SE is going down from what i see...if they are going to use s60, then to hell with them, i will use the original (Nokia)
Hi ares
I am coming to the same conclusion, as you know I have been highly critical of 's approach to SW quality control & build quality especially since the p990i charade.
To then find that they have effectively allowed UIQ to die before it reached its pinnacle and the recent X1, is evidence to me that Sony Ericsson are no longer committed to developing high end products and just want to have a offering of some kind.
This device however seems to encompass all of the things that made the P800 great, fresh, new, exciting & simple without costing the earth it is the ONLY device out there at present that actually excites me enough to consider a SIM free purchase, and from what I have read that will not break the bank either!
I would love to know when this device will be available in the UK or Europe

Not sure if this is correct but I have been told by a friend in Finland that the 5800 is available there at euros 999.99. Not quite the sub euros 300 SIM FREE as proclaimed by some sites!

Available on fleabay for $900, although the shipping time of 21+ days is a little suspect.

This phone is aimed directly at the iPhone so I expect pricing to be similar, my friend in Nokia confirmed it should eventually be available at the price they quoted. As I understand those being touted around at $900 are just ppre order units you cannot actually get them now.

Mate that was over 2 weeks ago. You can buy one for circa $550 right now off fleabay. Besides, retail units of the iPhone routinely go for $750, so the 5800 actually undercuts its so called rival.
