My M610i is booting up, showing the logo, playing the sound, then a tick sounds and it reboots again, showing the logo again and playing sound, it will do that until I pull the battery out. The power button is not responding. I guess it is loading something that shouldn't be there (I did the Walkman 2.0 mod, which worked fine after the first reboot, but after turning the phone off to swap battery it started to loop).

Anyone know how I can access the file system and delete the files or restore the ROM to the NAND? When holding down the @ button and connecting it to XS++ Vista is telling me there's an unknown device, the screen flashes shortly whilst holding down the @ buttron. Does this mean the firmware mode is not working any more too?

Did I just blew my phone or is there a way to bring it back?

Update:
When checking in the device manager I got:

USB Devices:
Sony Ericsson Composite Device

Com Ports:
Sony Ericsson Master Port COM23
Sony Ericsson Slave Port COM 24

Tried M600i in SEUS, did not work, maybe because it is a brown M610i proto. The same quick flash of screen/keyboard then the popup of Vista about an unknown device to which it can't install drivers, also XS++ worked before so the flash driver is properly installed. Any other advise?

My guess is that I just have to remove the mod from the NAND and it will boot fine, it doesnt like something while booting up. Maybe with a special cable one can gain access to the file system?

Saw this on another forum:

Ive got 2 M610 one working the other with a corrupted C: drive. Saving the bricked one for spare parts

Sience there is no way to flash or format a Brown pda if you put anything on it that will make it go into a reboot loop it is completeley bricked.

So be adviced DO NOT UNCAP FOLDERS AND PLAY WITH THE M610I!

Wish I knew that 2 hours ago because by the looks of it I just wasted a nice proto and my money for a walkman mod

Sorry mate. Maybe Leks could help you. He had this proto as well.

There should be a way to change the certificate to red. I guess there isn't any as this is a proto and never was released to the public though.

Yeah, I feel really stupid, even tho the battery life sucked, which seems to be common on the SE smart phones, it had many nice features. Maybe I should save up for a P1i or something newer based on that. For now I'm gutted for messing up a sweet phone by trying to add another media player. And I really hope this thing can be brought back to life.

I managed to connect to XS++, whilst connecting I release the @ button after Vista gives me the popup:

FSX does not work, nothing much can be done from within XS++
It seems the phone is not as dead as I tought it was, if only I could enter the file system en delete these walkman player files.....

Also tried with SEUS as M600i and W950 and P1i, it detects a phone but says software is uptodate and there's no "updte anyways" option. The option is there when I try it with my k800i, so my SEUS software must be uptodate.

When I got my M610, I tried to mess with it a bit, and I got the same. It did not turn on, and when I connected it to PC, it said it cannot recognize the device.
SEUS will never flash that phone, forget about it. It's not only a matter of being a brown phone, but the IMEI starting with 0046 or 0044 will make it impossible.
I was able to fix my phone, now it works fine and got a newer FW version, that has for example hungarian language pack on it, the battery lasts much longer, doesn't realy freez on Wifi, and so on. I used EMMA to fix it, so I guess you won't be able to fix your phone by yourself, but don't worry, there is hope for you, your phone can be fixed !

Wow hanky, that really sounds good but I dont have an EMMA login. Did you go to a shop or something?

It should be a matter of deleting the files so it will boot up again, I kinda assumed I could enter the file system with far+sepf/jdflasher or XS++ guess I should have tested before trying anything. I'm fuessing getting FS access would be the cure for this.

XS++ and FAR manager can't open the FS of the smartphones... Their filesystem can be opened by using swmail's application capsswitch and some good UIQ file manager.

@strizlow800

I know that, and it won't help me here, as the phone is stuck in a reboot loop.

@blerk
1. Backup your GDFS with XS++
2. Try to run my script for M600 smarts (with XS++)
3. Try to update smartphone with SEUS
4. Report
