just received my r520 in the mail and absolutely love it. I broke my t68i and didn't want or need a color screen since I have an iPaq for surfing.

So after reading so much about the r520, I decided to buy one - and am glad i did.

Cheers.
JM

Hi everyone.

I'm considering buying an R520 & i have a question or 2.

Does the alarm clock ring until interrupted or does it finish after a certain time?
Is the alarm Loud?

I have a Siemens S45 and the alarm only lasts 30 seconds and it isn't loud enough to wake me up (yes, i sleep heavy)

thanks,

Mao, JM, Congratulations! @Smartygus, Think the alarm is loud enough to wake you up. If you don't stop it in the alarming period, it will ring you again in the other 9 minutes, as the other Ericsson/SE phones do.

Got a question guys, I had an R520 before with an R4A. When I was browsing one evening, it suddenly had garbled texts & hung. So, I removed the battery & tried to boot it up. But, it kept resetting & would not completely boot up.

I went to a service center the next day & I was told that I had a faulty mainboard, I even asked for a second opinion in another service center & same thing, they told me that my phone can't be repaired anymore. Too bad my phone's already out of warranty.

Question is, how could my mainboard give in just like that, only had one firmware upgrade & although it dropped several times, it didn't encountered that problem til that evening.

@RVC3 maybe the firmware upgrade was upgraded poorly? messing up the hardware?

@RCV3

it's a faulty processor that causes your problem... really no special reason why this problem occurs, can occur on other models as well.... and it has nothing to do with the firmware upgrade..
