to be fair guys it is a simple case of copying a txt file into your c directroy. If you are not happy with it you can delete the file and all will be back to normal. Well at least it as for me.

Hi all, just installed this cam mod and the first thing i noticed was that the video doesn't seem any different...not sure about why that is so because the file size has sure increased. And secondly the video seems to lag behind the sound.

Does anyone else see this? Just video yourself talking and the sound is played first followed by the video....

Well, my videos ARE VERY different. Here is the 1st part hastly put together. Video and picture comparisons. If you have the time please download the pictures and study them, they really don't seem so different to me but video DOES.

great mod!!! the video is definitely so much better. it could still use a little more bitrate to reduce pixelation.

The video quality is OK as it is with these mods. But the sound and video synchronisation needs to be a little more precise (better). It would be perfect then.

well...it has to be...fps are doble, bitrate is around 30% more...so when viewing files on the pc, improvements are dramatic...

there´s problem with sound sync though...lets hope its corrected

It should be... It sometimes makes nonsense videos to have the sound and video not synchronized..

Sound??? Don't the modded acoustics work with G900 too. I have tried some on P1, don't know if G900 supports them...

i have done a little edit over the P990 camera mod....
http://www.4shared.com/file/64799149/12b5a535/CAMERAp990.html

video framerate increased from 15 to 30
and the vid0 and pict0 perfixes have been replaced with the original DSC0 because of the problem of the out of order reviewing after the pic or vid is taken.

i tried to increase the audio samples and bitrate to 16000 and 96kbps but no changes was found so it is still 8000 56kbps.

the main camera driver of UIQ3 phones is a file called cameradrv.dll that contains all of the stuff regarding autofocus - white balance and other ...
and as the format (.dll) says .. it is a coded file which can not be edited with just a notepad.

Where exactly is that dll located? Because theoretically it could be decompiled. If i remember correctly, symbian programs are written in c++, so it's a big chance that the camera driver was also written in c++. If someone could get the source code, modding it would be much easier than it was for A100 or A200 phones.

You say includes info about autofocus??? Doesn that mean that we have an opportunity to get back the video autofocus into newer firmwares of P990 (or probably p1)?
