@antonios>>> 3650?! go ahead! no.... seriously... the P800 has bugs but TINY ones. some "lacks" but aint no biggies. its a good phone/pda. very satisfying, but as i have said from my last posts, it could be better. but it's a-ok and its not something you have to get used to or "look at the bright side..". it's a fantastic gadget once you get to use it. the 3650 is NOT comparable to this super phone.

the 3650 aint bad...

Had several of that wierd warning sign crash that others talked about previously. Not a biggee (just needed to hold down the power button for 10 secs), but got me worried about depending on the P800 to wake me up on days with important meetings in the morning...

Another wierd bug: If you use the IR connection on the P800 to log onto the Internet with your notebook, you will notice that if you log on/log off a couple of times, the notebook ceases to recognize the P800 as a connected modem. It's probably a bug in the IR conduit. The only way to fix it is to hard-power down the P800, and restart the unit - it always works fine again after that.

It should`nt let you down on a wake up call as it is only going to crash when using larger programs. ( i hope).

The crash happens spontaneously once every few days - i.e. even if the phone is not being used and just lying on my desk...

Heh, really hoping for a patch soon.

Ok here's another bug I've noticed over the past few weeks.

Intermittent POP3 Email Failure

Often times, I've noticed that at the end of a day, after having sent/received emails sucessfully several times using the P800, all of a sudden, the process hangs at the "connecting to the POP3 / SMTP server" message. In the past, I thought it was something to do with errors creeping into the settings. I now realize that all it takes is a quick reboot (switch off/switch on) - and everything is fine again. Not quite sure why this happens.

OK my HBH-30 works now, but for some unknown reason I had to "Master Reset" the P800 in order to make it work

Now I am happy !!

My second point would be about the IMAP client that need serious improvements for :
- dealing with read/unread messages (ie the phone will not fetch the mail status on the server so all email are marked unread untill you read them on the P800)
- dealing with replied/fwded status (ie when you reply or fwd an email, it is not marked as such on the server even after a full get/send)
- dealing with timezones (ie when I have mail from different TZ in my Inbox, they are sorted according the sender's local time and not according GMT or local TZ)
- dealing with folders (ie I cannot access other folders than Inbox and also there is no way of saving sent emails like most IMAP client do)

Also SE should implement another option for IMAP which could be named "Download the whole Mail Body w/o attachements"

You are all mad. There, I've said it.

Are you people ever happy? Really, I'm curious. You own the best phone that has ever been released, and you complain about the fact that it doesnt have a stopwatch, or another little function you miss. Why don't you download a stopwatch java app then, it will do the trick. You miss profiles? Wait a few weeks, and a app will take care of it.

I've ordered the P800, and sure, I use functions like the stopwatch and timer a lot on my T68, but guess what? I think the phone has so many other advantages over T68, that those small neglects in the software means jack shit.

Why has this forum turned into this negative complaining mentality? Why can't you be happy with what you have, and the possibilities the phone presents. I think a norwegian magazine said it well when it said "calling the P800 a phone is practicly an insult"

Jeez.

knut. u should stick to the fact. p800 has major, basic flaw. the microphone often sucks; other side cannot hear u. well tries some solutions like put it in the right hand . this may help. but man it akward and this is insane for an expensive phone that fails in major function. se should not try to deny this . pls fix it if possible!

I also missed the stopwatch from my t68i, so i went to http://www.my-symbian.com/forum/index.php and downloaded a stopwatch, now my p800 has a stopwatch.
But doing that is WAY down at the small end of the features of this phone.
PS. I have NO microphone problems either.
