As others said - the qwerty on the P1 is well worth having (assuming you get used to it of course... ) and since we can now put the walkman player on to the P1, it's even better. Plus I like the removable storage - the 960 doesn't have a removable memory card (does it?)

what is going to be the next version of P1? Everybody used to talk about P5 but I haven't been seeing any thread about this. Is there going to be an upgrade of P1? Or is the Xperia the next business phones of Sony Ericsson?

if i can afford the w960 should i go for it or is it still better to get p1?i don't like qwerty because it makes the device ' non-phone-ish'....another thing about the p1 is the looks, its got a kind of business man look to it , i m a boy and i really love the looks of the w960 |

If you are aware of the specs of both, but still prefer the W960 due to its style, there is no need to ask imo.
Go for it.

@dwainsan
There won't be an upgrade to the P1. UIQ3 is finished so there will be no future UIQ phones, atleast not from SE.
But hey...get the P1 or W960, depending on which type pf keypad you prefer.
You can have opera 9.5 on it too! and UIQ3 modding has just begun...there's a lot still in store for us UIQ users..on the non-official front of course!

No more SE for me for a while. I have the P1i, and the external speaker just died, after having it for a year. Don't get me wrong, it is a good phone, very capable, but I hate SE's mentality. Instead of working on improving and developing existing phones, they make a whole concoction of lousy phones with a lack of features.
(Remember I said, I still like the P1i)
-P1 has slow data connections compared to other phones. GREAT QWERTY keyboard, I think one of the best innovations from SE.
-CANNOT open zip files.
-Very MINIMAL support and update from SE, to the point where we have to get hackers like swmail to port over applications on other SE uiq3 devices.
-No printing
-No flash support, apart from the hack for flv files.
-Plays videos, but not flexible, you have to figure out the exact CODEC settings to get them to play. then again, most phones have this issue I guess.
-Costs USD 180 flat rate to fix the phone after warranty. CRAZY!!! (considering that you can get a new one for around $300 now. maybe some of you should consider getting the extended warranty that some dealers provide.)
-Cut & paste doesn't work properly still, and can only handle a limited amount of characters. For example, if you wanted to cut and paste material from a webpage to a Quickoffice document, you'd have to split it up into sections. this should've been fixed by now, but that's SE for you.
-lousy camera (green tint issue mainly)
-lousy video recording. ( only does 15fps without the hack)
Pros:
-great multitasker
-decent music player
-what else... there's a few, can't think of them off the top of my head. just woke up.
-good external speaker, until it dies!!
-did I mention great QWERTY keyboard?
Anyway, that's my rant. I'm looking towards the future of the Nokia E90. I've been doing research on the phone, and it looks and performs pretty good. Most specs exceed the P1. And S60 is now developing touch, which is probably what the next E90 will incorporate.
The SE XPERIA moved to windows mobile, which turned the deal off for me. It looks like a good phone, but after the initial hype, I think people are going to realize that its just as limited as the P1 when it comes to full fledged functionality. I don't want to reset a phone every week, you know.

Walkman for music-loving casual-style, P1i is good for business purpose.
