Develop things is a hobbie for you?Well.. Why you do not develop by itself or wait someone doing some work for free for you.
Programms of mobile phone for apply drivers or firmwares isnīt a business?? so I donīt know that world you live to think so.
Nobody is paying developers to drivers and that is something important then wait for someone to make a driver or make yourself, simply easy the solution.
It would be nice if all the developers of quality stop work.
Developers Strike would be nice

Is my point of view,if you don't agree i can't do nothing...
Some people make art without interest. So,art isn't business too?And a hobbie?Understand like you want,we help to develop using and some people knows C++,Java,Delphi etc & etc and help too...
Well,is your point of view... I respect...

Well I think it is a hobbie for some people and for others not. I mean some use it as a little bussiness to make cash. Anyway, I like creating mods too . Graphic patches aren't hard to make btw and they seem to be pretty interesting stuff...

Also GDesk themes for UIQ phones are interesting to play with.

Developing authorised camera drivers for Sony Ericsson is a business.

Developing unauthorised drivers out of your own interest is a hobbie. You can share the results of your work, or you can charge, but if someone else develops it and shares it for free you can't complain.

If totalgsm decide to offer fs flashing, and charge for it, they can. If XS++ one day supports free flashing, then totalgsm cannot complain.

But in the meantime, since only people who pay for EMMA service software or licence fees to SE, can actually access the internal fs of DB3150, I think totalgsm are more than entitled to ask us to pay money. This is a BUSINESS transaction - totalgsm expend financial resources to offer a service that will make them more money than they spend offering the service.

Personally I have no problem with that. Also, when XS++ offers db3150 access, I will have no qualms about dropping totalgsm and doing it myself.

We should definitely respect developers who work on unauthorised drivers but let's not call it a business. Businesses charge for their work. Hobbyists do it for the sheer love of it.

If a developer isn't enjoying developing they should a) quit or b) atleast find a way to get paid for it

If they are enjoying it, then the enjoyment is payment. For example I develop themes. I also have developed a few modded menu's in my time, and also KD Player skin or two. I do it because I enjoy it and so I have the themes/skins/menus that I want. I post my results so that other people who might like my ideas don't have to do it themselves, and so that people can modifiy my efforts to suit their own needs (you can see my menu modding thread as an example). Once I've posted it online, it's not mine anymore. Anyhone can do anything they want with it including improve it.

The modding community deserves massive respect for what they do, (especially those such as XS++ who crack the SE protection that means the rests of us can mod our phones) but more for the fact that they are generous enough to share it. It's truly an awesome thing they do.

Becasue they do it for free we can't put any demands on them - we have to just accept what we get. It's wrong to complain about hobby developers work.
