Finally, out of nowhere, i managed to write on my w960i using multitap, the concventional texting without word suggestions, predictive inputs, and most importantly, getting rid of the the handwriting recognition with the annoying triangles that sometimes covers letters and unable to properly highlight texts for copy/pasting.

Goto walkman > more > settings > visualization and mood > select > mood > edit > more > keyboard.

You'll notice, handwriting icons are gone. And it works on all areas of the fon. In case it does come back, repeat procedure.

T9 is good if your have your languages in the phone. What about users who's mother language is not at the phone? They cannot write only in english.

in the philippines, even if you are about to die, the first thing that comes into your mind with a phone in your hand is not to CALL someone for help, but rather to send sms. LOL.

What i mean is, we dont spell the word completly and t9 is not an answr to us. Beliv me, pipol her could text without looking at the keypad even while walking and in the crowd.

Havent you observed that with multitap and handwriting on, it is impossbile to highlight texts and do copy/paste because the scren recognizes it as a stroke instead of a highlight?

Anyway, I observed that this set-up is temporary. walkman should be runnning in the background.

IMO, I think you can always, but you have to add it in your database. Its t9 is not only for a standard english language for example. It has various set-ups anyway. But it takes forever to chose from list of words or add new word everytime.

Well I don't have that time. Actually have a qwerty keyboard on my p1 so no need of t9.

Well in our country the W960 never appeared in oficial shops. You can find some rare models in smaller mobile phone services and shops or individuals selling them, but those are phone got from internet... Oficially we never got W960... I would buy one otherwise... But I'm with my P1 now, have the W960 walkman in it, have flash support installed and many other mods. I have a W960 feel with qwerty keyboard.

yes i'm one of those ppl who can text without looking at the keypad while driving (kids don't try this at home) and i use T9. it's all a matter of remembering how many taps to a word (same as multi-tap) and i type in phonetics other than english too. just have to save the words in "My Words"

Speaking about "my words"...does anyone know how many customized words a G900 can store?

EDIT: I noticed another cool thing about the G900 text function, it has a temporary memory that stores certain words (eg. hse) for a period of time (w/o putting it into "my words") and forgets it if it's not used after a day or so...

The one function I don't understand is "Auto-save new words" in Text Options. I dunno what this does as I don't find words being saved whether or not it is checked. Anyone?
