The Webcast is now over. For anyone who wants to view the webcast (and waste 30 minutes of their life), go to http://www.sonyericsson.com/premiere and click on 'Go to Webcast'. Apparently there will be an on-demand version of the webcast up shortly.

I just got this email minutes ago:

Hi

Our client Sony Ericsson is hosting a live Xperia™ webcast on the 8th and we thought this might be something you’d be interested in.

The webcast will include a world premiere of Sony Ericsson’s alternative reality thriller and give the first live, in-depth, demonstration of the Xperia™ X1 prior to its global launch. The webcast will air at 1pm (GMT + 1 hour) 8 September 2008. The link to the website that will host the webcast will be emailed to you week commencing 1 September 2008.

To register your interest, please email your name and publication/site details to sonyericsson@bm.com

We will send you a reminder e-card a few days before the announcement on 8 September, with more details and the webcast link.

Many thanks,

Natalie

So the X1 wasn't really delayed until the end of the year. Good.

Yeah I'll definitely put the link up when I receive the email.

A few things that make me wonder in this email are "alternative reality thriller" (what the heck is that supposed to be about?) and also where it says "prior to the global launch" which sort of suggests the launch will be not long after. Either in September or October, which will shut some of the people in the X1 thread up!

Any chance of someone "recording" the webcast? and putting it up for the unlucky ones who either dont get a link, or have to be at work when it goes out.

It would be much appreciated, if it is possible.

Wouldn't it be funny if they went to use it, and it didn't work?

It would be so very typical...
