@peterkay, those posters are very informative to an non-muslim. If more non-muslims would read these there would be a better understanding of Islam in the western world. btw, I'm non-secular, but respect most religions at their heart (but I despise fundementalists who think they can interpret religious texts to support their own extreme ideologies - same goes for fundementalist Christians, who really tick me off).

btw those are some great photos too, thanks for posting.

I totally agree with you max_wedge. These fundamentalists are to blame, no matter what religion they are. All religions have common moral values and all religions teach nothing but peace .

Thanks max matey, appreciate your comments and very true they are indeed.

Islam is a very simple religion and guides us on lifes journey with ease but has been misintepreted hugely nowadays and the media has played a huge part in that i would say, all the posters that you have seen are basically teachings of the final prophet Muhammad peace be upon him. I will try to add more later

Thanks

Asalam o alaikum warah matullah

Abu Huraira (Allah be pleased with him) reported that a person came to the Apostle of Allah (may peace be upon him) and said: Messenger of Allah, I am undone. He (the Holy Prophet) said: What has brought about your ruin? He said: I have had intercourse with my wife during the month of Ramadan. Upon this he (the Holy prophet) said: Can you find a slave to set him free? He said: NO He (the Holy Prophet again) said: Can you observe fast for two consecutive months? He said: No. He (the Holy Prophet) said: Can you provide food to sixty poor people?, He said: No. He then sat down and (in the meanwhile) there was brought to the Apostle of Allah (may peace be upon him) a basket which contained dates. He (the Holy Prophet) said: Give these (dates) in charity. He (the man) said: Am I to give to one who is poorer than I? There is no family poorer than mine between the two lava plains of Medina. The Apostle of Allah (may peace be upon him) laughed so that his molar teeth became visible and said: Go and give it to your family to eat.

4. Darul Khuld
5. Jannat-ul-Adan
6. Jannat-ul-Naeem
7. Jannat-ul-Kasif
8. Jannat-ul-Firdous

Their fruits will be hanging in rows.
Those who love each other for the sake of Allah will get a pillar of Yaqoot,
on which there will be seventy thousand (70,000) rooms. These will shine for
the residents of Jannat as the sun shines for the residents of Duniya
There will be rooms in Jannat in such a way that every room will have
seventy thousand (70,000) dinning sheets. On every dinning sheet 70,000
types of foods will be served. For their service 80,000 young boys will be
moving around looking like beautiful scattered pearls.
One bunch of dates will be equal to the length of 12 arms. The size of a
date will be equal to the big pitcher. These will be whiter than milk,
sweeter than honey and softer than butter and free of seeds. The stem of

Don't know uf you've read this before but thought that it me something that you might find interesting...

These are some physical descriptions of some of the major Companions, taken from the first four volumes of 'Siyar A'lam an-Nubala':

1 - Abu Bakr:

"He was white-skinned, skinny, with thin cheeks. He had a wrinkly face, deepset eyes, a protruding forehead, and he would dye his beard with henna and oil it."

"He was white or yellow-skinned, handsome, with thin legs. His izar would not stay firmly tied around his waist."

2 - 'Umar bin al-Khattab:

"He was white-skinned, leaning towards redness. He was tall, balding, and had white hair around his head."

"He was very tall, and extemely bald. He had reddened skin, thin cheeks, and the edges of his mustache were long and dark red."

"He would walk so fast that it was as if he was riding a horse while those around him were walking."

"He used to dye his hair with henna."

3 - 'Uthman bin 'Affan:

"He was not tall or short. He had a handsome face, a long beard, dark skin, wide shoulders, and he would dye his hair with saffron. He would cap teeth with gold."

'Abdullah bin Hazm said: "I saw 'Uthman, and I never saw a man or woman more beautiful than him."

as-Sa'ib said: "I saw him dying his beard yellow, and I never saw an old man more handsome than him."

4 - 'Ali bin Abi Talib:

"He was balding, but had much hair left, as if he was wearing a sheepskin. He was of medium height, with a large belly and a large beard."

"He had a yellow beard."

"He dyed his beard with henna once, then he never used it again."

"His hair and beard were white, like cotton."

ash-Sha'bi said: "I saw 'Ali with a white beard, and I never saw anyone with a larger beard then he."

"He had heavyset, large eyes, and he was closer to being short."

5 - Abu 'Ubaydah bin al-Jarrah:

"He was a skinny man, with a wrinkly face and a light beard. He was tall."

6 - Mu'adh bin Jabal:

"He was tall, with large eyes, white-skinned, with wrinkled skin."

7 - 'Abdullah bin Mas'ud:

"He was thin, short, and did not dye his hair."

"He was handsome and wise."

8 - 'A'ishah:

"She was white-skinned and beautiful."

9 - Abu Hurayrah:

"He was fair-skinned, had wide shoulders, wide teeth, and he had braids in his hair."

"He was white-skinned, thin, and had a red beard."

10 - Mu'awiyah:

"He was tall, white-skinned, and handsome. When he laughed, his upper lip would move, and he would dye his hair."

"He would dye his hair with saffron, and his beard was golden."

11 - 'Abdullah bin 'Umar:

"He would dye his beard yellow."

"He would dye his beard yellow until his clothing became wet with the dye. It was said to him: "You dye with yellow?" He replied: "I saw the Messenger of Allah doing so!""

12 - al-Husayn:

"His hair and beard were extremely black."

13 - 'Abdullah bin 'Abbas:

"He was white-skinned, leaning towards yellow, tall, handsome, bright-faced, and he would dye his hair with henna."

'Ata' said: "I never see the full Moon of the 14th night of the month except that I remember the face of Ibn 'Abbas."

14 - Anas bin Malik:

"He would wear a black turban that he would leave trailing behind him."

May Allah be pleased with them all. Amen

Asalam o alaikum warah matullah

MashAllah brother PK, indeed very informative. I never had that information. JazakAllah

1. Ibn Abbas (Allah be pleased with him) reported: Do not condemn one who observes fast, or one who does not observe (in a journey). for the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) observed fast in a journey or he did not observe it (too).

2. Jabir b. 'Abdullah (Allah be pleased with both of them) reported that in the course of a journey Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) saw a man, people crowding around him and providing him a shade. Upon this he (the Holy Prophet) said: What is the matter with him? They said: He is a person observing fast. Whereupon the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said: It is no righteousness that you fast on journey.

3. Abu Nadra reported Abu Sa'id al. Khudri and Jabir b. Abdullah as saying: We travelled with the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him). The observer of the fast observed it, and the breaker of the fast broke it, but none of them found fault with each other.

4. Anas (Allah be pleased with him) reported: We were with the Apostle of Allah (may peace be upon him) on a journey. Some of us had been observing the fast and some of us had not been fasting. We got down at a place on a hot day. Most of us had the cloth for shelter. There were also those amongst us who sheltered (themselves against the rays of the) sun with the help of their hands. The observers of the fast fell down (on account of weakness). Those who had not observed it got up and pitched tents and watered the mounts. Thereupon the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said: The breakers of the fast have taken away the reward today.

5. 'A'isha (Allah be pleased with her) reported that Hamza b. 'Amr al-Aslami asked the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) about fasting on a journey, and he (the Holy Prophet) said: Fast if you like and break it if you like.

Asalam o alaikum warah matullah wabarakatuhu

Alhamdolillah, we all read the quran everyday. But this Quran is not just about reading, its about understanding it.

Below are few aya's of Surah Mudathir (74). In just a few verses, Allah has explained to us the possible reasons of going in hell-fire

38: Every person is a pledge for what he has earned,

39: Except those on the Right, (i.e. the pious true believers of Islamic Monotheism).

40: In Gardens (Paradise) they will ask one another,

41: About Al-Mujrimun (polytheists, criminals, disbelievers), (And they will say to them):

42: "What has caused you to enter Hell?"

43: They will say: "We were not of those who used to offer the Salat (prayers),

44: "Nor we used to feed Al-Miskin (the poor);

45: "And we used to talk falsehood (all that which Allah hated) with vain talkers.

46: And we used to belie the Day of Recompense,

47: "Until there came to us (the death) that is certain."

Simple reasons as to why a person may enter hell-fire.

May Allah protect us all from that place, ameen sum ameen
