I've had my C702 about a month now and it has recently started to crash quite frequently. It makes and odd noise and vibrates and then the screen goes black; after about 2 seconds the backlight comes on and I get back to the home screen.

I've tried using the update service on the phone but it claims the software is up to date. Using the update service on my PC it suggests I re-install the phones software. Is this straightforward?

Try updating the phone's firmware with SEUS... It may help you. Or try master reset instead.

Lol, he just said that SEUS says his software is up to date!

@mcslemon: Yes its straightforward, just let SEUS do all the work. Just make sure all your files are on your memory card, then remove the memory card from your phone first. You may like to make a back-up of your contacts and calendar to your computer first also.

Sorry about that. Anyway if you are able to spend some euros you can try flashing your phone with some of the online flashing clients... totalgsm should do the trick if they have the latest firmware (they should have it) to reflash your phone with the same firmware and sort out all your software related problems.

Cheers people

I assume a master reset will keep everything on the phone that it originally came with?

You may lose anything that it came with which is deletable. So if games that it came with or things like that are possible to delete, then it's likely they will be gone after the reset.

Games and apps will be deleted if you choose complete master reset (not only the settings reset option)... Games and apps can't be backed up, but you can save your contacts and messages (files also) using MPE (My Phone Explorer)...
