K800 white screen and red flashing led. EROM fault ? |

My dads just had this happen to his 2 year old K800 which is O2 branded. I think the phone had the original EROM but was running the latest software.
The K800 had been working constantly with no faults for the last 2 years. All he did was turn the phone off and take his sim card out to put it in his new C902.
He asked me to transfer all his contacts from his K800 to his C902 and when I went to turn the K800 on it did a short vibrate and a white screen appeared which was blank. This is how it stayed. I took the battery out and tried again. This time I got the white screen (no vibrate) and the red led in the ir port flashing 6 times.
I'm thinking this is the EROM fault/WSOD problem that the K800's used to have.
The phone is recognizable as my computer detects it when plugged in via the USB cable. SEUS get to the identification part but then fails.
Would a 3rd party service like Davinci sort the problem out and get the K800 working again or would it have to be sent to ?
My dad has now decided he doesn't like the C902 and prefers his K800 so he's asked me to try and get it working again.
Any help would be great

Thanks. Will give it a try. Will need to have 10 credits on my Davinci account to do the EROM update so may as well flash the K800 with generic software as well if the EROM update works

Nop , you do not need to buy the 10 credits.
PM me , i will give you a free account and you can use that to update the EROM.

Thanks but I already have an account with Davinci. You were right about the EROM update not needing credits. Have done the EROM update but just get a white screen even though the update worked. Am now flashing the phone with the latest software from Davinci. See if that works.

EROM can also be flashed with XS++ on CID52 (or lower CID) phones . You can use the EROM file as a "MAIN firmware file" and just press the FLASH button.
