I recently visited the Carphonewarehouse site and it says the release date is Feb but when i asked in the shop they told me it was march.
which one should i go by??

Can someone tell me why release dates are so long for UK customers? Not just phones, cars too. While we're having fun with our phones you guys have to wait for 2 - 3 months! |

Phones, easy to answer. It must be able to function on all 4 networks by order of government intervention, must have full interoperation if having same features etc. It's just testing really and contrary to popular belief the uk networks are not all fully up and running. There is still expansion and that tends to be a priority. Uk customers are catching on to fact that new phone does not offer better service so nets are slower to take units on now. We got stung badly with wap!

By the looks of things.. Noone is willing to give a concrete date because there isnt one! It will be here subject to network approval as was previously said!  |

jan 13th in uk uk/voda
all networks in feb (not tmobile)
cpw will get it first

January 13th this phone will be released on Vodafone!? Where did you get that information? Are you sure?
Dam shame I'll be skiing... as all the P800s will have gone by 11am on the 13th if this is true!
I would so like to belive you, but please could you give a little more proof where you got that date..

Could very well be, since I just talked to one of the online-sellers in Switzerland. He said that usually SE releases the phones within 14 days (from the first countries to general availability).
I'm praying for it, anyway. |

No no no no no.... You miss interpreted me flaming you... I really want this phone to come out, and I've had the carrot dangled in front of my nose with the Sendo Z100 about 5 times, then with the P800.... so I'm really glad that you've actually got a good date...
Sorry if I sounded bad to you, I honestly didn't mean it to sound that way... I just wish I could get my hands on one before I go on the ski trip, then I can take photos of me skiing and txt them to all my friends (well, the few that have MMS phones  )

I echo the comments....no flaming at all....just desperation
Been waiting for this for ages...4 of us in the office here are chomping at the bit to get one.
Just simply trying to find out the most likely outlet/shop/company to get one from since i can go for either O2 (CPW) or Voda (Voda Retail)
Any info is greatly appreciated cos its just a great device.

Hi there..
I called the CPW to ask about their P800, and to try and see if by saying that their MD had said that it would be released on the 13th Jan they would be surprised that we knew or something...
First of all she said Feb->March release date, then when I mentioned the 13th Jan she said well "Jan->Feb, nearer Feb"...
I then asked the MD's name, and it was "Charles B..." ( B something or other) ... so I guess this guy is quite high up the company to be calling the MD "Charlie"?
I just hope that the person I called was just some low down telesales person that doens't really know whats going on, as I would soooo love to just come back from the ski trip and buy a P800 before Uni term starts back again!
