i would visit an SE service centre, but they're always far too busy.....and thats even with the likes of seus.

I know i'm not allowed to post in this thread again.
But i find it important to say that this person should be ignored since he is very bias and doesn't know much about telecom while he thinks he does.

No. The outlook is good for this year so far, according to Nordberg.

Who cares what Mr. Nordberg thinks?
I could quote some Nostradamus Esato members who say is indeed still doomed, even more doomed than 2 years ago.

Yes,but have come through the tunnel of doom & out the other side & back into the light. They have come through their worst period, survived & even turned around a profit. I don't call that doomed

I think they are coming good ...

Especially recently I like the idea of small andriod smart phones like X10 Mini Pro ... although I haven't really used the phone ...

But I hate big phones so big up to SE for bring small phones just like they did with T28s, T10s back in the day ...

I think are not yet where they want to be.
iOS is such a massive step up from any smartphone platform that went before that the only consumer level OS platform that can properly compete is Android. The trouble with Android from an manufacturers point of view is that it leaves them solely making money from hardware sales unlike Apple who get income from all aspects of iOS and the App Store.

Android phones have a shorter shelf life and while is trying to extend their product cycle and add value with Timescape and Mediascape overlays, their efforts are hampered by not having timely Android OS updates. This is not good enough. The other major problem is not having enough RAM to upgrade to Android 3.0 Gingerbread. So the devices are behind the eight-ball now and will hit a brick wall in the near future; many Android owners are tech-savvy, they know this stuff. need to lift their game if they want to sell quantity in an Android smartphone market.

I think could be run over by Dell's new range of Android & Windows Phone 7 phones. They go for the jugular with stunningly beautiful styling and finish them off by using the latest OS available. Clearly Dell and are inhabiting the same niche and I hope have seen them coming and have some more products up their sleeve.

@carkitter, I think Dell will carve a niche, but not one large enough to threaten SE particularly. However I'm glad to see Dell in the phone market. They are a strong manufacturer with quality products - they tend to be overlooked because of some of the supply and support tissues they've had, but they are actually a very capable manufacturer. I do see some similarities between Dell and SE though. It will be interesting to see how Dell evolve in the mobile phone market.

@bonovox, I feel a bit the same as you, though ultimately Android is a capable OS and I'd rather Android than s60 tbh.

Then there is WP7, which from the sound of it is going to be as locked down as iphone. No expandable memory, nomulti-tsaking or copy and paste and no flash. (However word is thatmost of those things will be added later. Hopefully expandable memory will make onto the "will be added later" list. I'm not likely to buy one without memory expansion).
I'd say I'll be waiting for the "later" and jailbreakable versions of WP7 before I consider it as an option.
