The Mobile Phone Repair Company, owned by 20:20 Mobile, has launched a major new online recycling scheme.
It is estimated that almost 90 million old mobile phones are lurking in drawers and cupboards across the UK.
Visitors to the new site (www.mprc.co.uk/recycle) fill in a form detailing what handset they have got. They are then sent a Freepost envelope, and once the phone is sent in, they are credited with money.

did you know it's more economical intrest?
since mobile phones use gold and other materials, it's a very good business.
estimated 1ton gold ore gives something like 5gr gold
estimated 1ton mobile phones gives like 15-20gr gold

Imho, there is nothing wrong in the commercial part as anyway, the phone owner does not have the resources to "extract" the miniscule amount gold present. Whats wrong if these companies extract these? In any case, you've gotta be financially strong to survive so the commercial part cannot be overlooked. And they help you get rid of your old phones.

Sounds great. It's good how people are coming together to create awareness around mobile phone recycling. It should have a helping effect on the environment in the long run but help people in the short term as well.
