doesn't sound right though does it? since when has a payg phone been almost half the price of a sim free?

I guess we'll see next month...

@PK
Surely vodafone only unlock PAYM free of charge?

Maybe the good price is to compete with iphone on PAYG

Pay and go prices are always cheaper than sim free just take a look at CPW. This is great price though and i like the fact that Vodafone offer all their phones on pay as you go. It gives anyone the chance to buy top of the range phones not just contract customers. It must be cos of the new iphone.

@masseur
Telstra Australia have announced the HTC Diamond at $A999 stand-alone or free on a $A80 per month, two year plan.

Not really paid any attention to the HTC discussions round here, but I must say thats a very good looking phone.

I'm with Telstra but strangely, though an avid WM fan having had many ipaqs and then the jam, k-jam, universal, tytn and tytn II this one just doesn't appeal to me and I really can't put my finger on why it doesn't

as an off topic side note, Telstra also announced last week that they would be selling the iphone too
