Hmm it seems that 8MP headset won't be that long on the market... At least if the 9mp ones don't give enough trouble to manufacturers... You know, better picture and quality, it would require improved software and hardware...

just because theres a 9 megapixel cam module doesn't mean that manafacturers have to implement it, only if they want to. And I think is going to skip 9 megapixel and go straight to 10

Yeah that would be better though... Wasting time on slight improvement of only 1 megapixel, while they can focus on getting 2 more to reach the 10.

I wish they would drop the mp race and start looking at better sensors and better optics. It's time for optical zoom imho.

Aamslla question: Is the pre-order price always higher than the price after release?
I mean if its 500 euros, i have to wait quite a lot to get my hands on this baby.

the latest firmware for c905 seems to produce great pics imo. new sensor i suppose. yellow tint is gone, colors are better, and noise is also very very low. but i still think the reds aren't ready yet. it doesn't look natural enough imo.

This won't happen very soon. They have fooled the average consumer that more pixels equals better pictures Look at the C902. It's photos doesn't have better resolution than those from the K800/K810. And it's the lens that is the problem. Don't think this is true? Try scaling down a C902 photo to 3MP and then back up to 5MP again and then compare with the original. All 5MP camphones have the same problem. Even plankis' favorite, the i-mobile 902, also have a very poor lens.

Why'd you want to do that. If you really do scale a 5MP photo down to 3MP and save the file, the extra 2MP data is lost.

Because those 2MP are not there at all. I posted a few examples of this in the first two pages of the Post your pictures (and videos) taken with your G900/G700 thread.

I disagree. One of my friends has a C902 and the photos it produces are definitely more detailed than my K810's.

Take a look at the samples I posted. Even the N95 8GB with its Carl Zeiss lens on the second page doesn't produce higher than 3MP resolution. Shall I post some more?

Edit: I did the same downscale-upscale with a couple of C905 photos. These seem to have an effective resolution of 4MP, i.e. better than the C902.

Optics are a factor, but i still think its the sensor.
Due to the megapixel race, the pixel size is going smaller and smaller.
I estimate those 8Mp sensors have a pixel size of 1.75um.
Thats way too small, these would be too much crosstalk, noise etc
There is a good reason why DSLR's still have pixel size of >5um despite having all the latest noise, cross talk reducing enhancements.

I disagree. for sure C902 is a step forward but word "definitely" is not right in comparision with K800. back to C905
