It's due to bilinear filtering that happened when Virgile Fontaine cropped that pics... And Medium JPEG Compression also contribute this... To give best result, it must use bicubic sharpen... Actually, He doesn't provide full size pics yet
And yes, I can notice too much saturation... But I thought it's okay, because most of the common people will pleased this colour... Vivid style photos... I already showed it to my friend and most of them praised this...
Again, I just pointed the colours... We should judge the details by full-sized pics...
And yes, everyone have their own opinions... I appreciate your opinions
And keep in mind, that these pics taken by pre-release prototype of C905... The final production unit could have different algorithm... Let's wait and see...

Actually i find the colours very good i just hate that N-R smearing out the details in your full res pics which i hoped SE should fix once the phone reaches the stores. anyway Eldar's C905 samples do not use N-R hence the great amount of noise. if SE could extract both the strong points of the two different algorithms then C905 can produce images with more detailes and better colours.

Lol maybe it has a raw setting. Haha nah I doubt it, and I doubt it was actually taken with a C905. Has anybody stated the source of that picture yet?

I'm sorry, I didn't get the point of your post before (about smearing.)
Did you mean this?
100% Crop:
Dunno why this problem exist. Already happened since K850, and subsided in C902... Oversharpening and Higher saturation makes it worse...
Usually happened in a dull texture like a grass... Strangely, doesn't happened too much in R1AA081:
100% Crop:

I noticed it too, strange enough... Looks like Anders Hansen opens it with photoshop, do a little filter, then save it at 12 (Maximum JPEG Compression) instead of 10 quality...
12 gives 5.1 mb, and 10 gives 2.5 mb... 10 is default JPEG compression by C905...
The strange thing is, the EXIF is little broken, it wouldn't show Firmware Revision... And yes, only this image that has unreal smearing... Other image doesn't have this...

Well i think at this stage, it's making better pics than my old K850 ever did, and i belive that goes for C902 also, so it is a upgrade imo!
Let's see how it performs when it's released imo, about a month from now or so.

marty I think you might be imagining the blue haze. I just don't see it. The yellow of the wasp would be purple tinged if there was too much blue in the image. Also the sand would be blue tinged. I think you are looking at the plants and making your judgement since they have a blue colour but that's normal for those plants. That's the colour they should be. And the colours aren't bleached - it's just natural for that landscape.
No offence, but if you can't see the blue tint on the original picture, you need to test your eyes! The subjects would not change colour as dramatically as you described with a slight tint. Only if it was a solid, bright blue overlay on the picture. The poor colour balance has caused the colours to bleach. It's not imagination its plain as day!:
If those are natural colours for the landscape, either its taken on another planet, or you always wear blue tinted sunglasses! Plus, this picture looks very strange. I'm sure it's a photo of a photo. The actual picture seems to be edited. The leaves don't look natural against the background, like it's superimposed. Not the best example of a C905 photo.
I hope the quality is as good as the photos just shown on the last page, and people are not just taking pictures with digital cameras and editing the exif information. That would be sad and desperate.

About picture credibility, I don't know much about Anders Hansen (2 pics with full res sample, one of these are strange)
But all other 800x600 pics comes from Virgile Fountaine's flickr from Planete Nokia, who is professional reviewer... He reviews Nokia a lot... Same as Eldar

Hey chaps, don't worry to much about the color, after all Christmas is still 3months away - plenty of time to fix the firmware Yes the Samsung is best but if SE fix the color and if the smear gets fixed too then if eventually will be released,it will be the best xenon flash phone on the market

not true. exposure time of this picture is 1/1250s which means:
1. good light conditions
2. fast enough to freeze the insect in flight
3. SE phones can take 1/6400s shots (you can freeze very fast-moving subjects)

Hi Mario, why do you think the Xenon flash will be so good. The one on the K850 is s*** (a real sep backwards from the K800). Is there a spec somewhere that shows it will be an improvement? The Xenon flash is important to me so would be interested if they've definitely improved it. |
