Sorry to edit/bump my old topic but after some experimenting with firmwares on my old z610i I managed to get the w660i firmware to work. So much for peopel saying it is impossible, not much is impossible nowadays

I lost the OLED external display and crappy 2mb cam without AF but gained flash lite menu's and walkman functionality. What I did to make it work:

- Flash FS/MAIN of w660
- Finalise/Customise with w660 files
- Put z610 display driver back with far or xs++
- Delete camera drivers (no fix for this yet)

What is working:

- Screen, duh
- Sound works
- Making/Receiving call/sms
- Vibration
- M2 memory stick (4GB fast access, tested with over 3gb of mp3 files)
- Bluetooth, A2DP works too, testing on Dell wireless stereo headset.
- Menus and themes, themes are fast and responsive, both normal and flash lite
- TrackID
- Games, extreme air snowboarding/towerbloxx
- Activity menu button, "walkman" button on the side, volume/track skip keys

After one day of testing and playing around it seems very stable, no more crashes after removing camera drivers.

Wat is not working:

- Camera, both 2mp and 3g cameras
- External OLED
- Radio, searches for channels but finds none, no wonder because the x610i has no radio hardware.

So obviously I couldn't care less about losing the external OLED which is only visible in the dark, and the camera was not that good anyways.

Big thanks to xell for helping me fix the initial radio/walkman crashes, they were caused by the camera drivers. I'm happy with my new walkman

It's simply not possible because the hardware is completely different...

So the years won't find a solution...

You seem to encounter the same problems as K610 users had when flashing to W660. One simple way to get the player running there is to delete the cam drivers.

@xell
Thank you for the help, that did the trick! Pretty nice effects on the main screen when playing music.

Now my new k800i doesn't look so cool anymore, even with mods

I was keeping the z610 along to play with and try things, but did not expect to make it into a pretty neat little walkman. Loss of camera is no biggie too.

Wonder if I can make the w880 firmware run good on the k800, I've seen people do it but they needed myphone explorer to use the phone as keypad/joystick where not working. But for now I don't fancy experimenting with my k800i, maybe if someone has a left over one for me to play with When I feel confident enough I will surely try and get some walkman firmware to run properly on my k800i keeping 3.2mp cam, AF, etc, etc. Mine is CID53 so I don't feel likeflashing it before I make a GDFS backup myself. Feel free to donate your old CID52 k800i to me tho so I can start trying
