Panasonic G55 HongKong phone says No Service in US |

I bought a Panasonic G55 from HongKong that is unlocked.
When I insert my AT&T sim card it says 'No Service'.
It can see the sim because it reads the phone book, but 'No Service'. It should be a quadband.
I bought a similar one in Italy a year ago and it worked fine, so I don't know what's up. (I lost that one, so wanted a replacement)
Please help!

in the US, the main band is 850mhz and the g55 is 900/1800/1900. that's why you dont get service

I called AT&T to check and they said it should work okay in the US on the 1900 bandwidth (maybe not as well as both 850 and 1900, but okay in bigger cities)
Any other thoughts on what it could be? |
