i wouldnt be so quick to write this browser off or call it dumb. I too am having problems getting it to connect to the internet using a gprs connection. However i see the potential in this app. Keep in mind that it is a beta. im sure most problems will be addressed by the next release. Besides once its working it'll offer a finger friendly browser which i hate to say opera for all its greatness is not |

Does it hog as much memory as the native Opera? I'll only consider trying if it uses up less RAM.

I've tried it and it sucks. I'll write a review about it on my site.

My problem is: it loads the whole page, without mobile pagination and I have to push it from left to right to see the whole paragraph. If I still wanna zoom out I have to use that ... feature which doesn't always work. And I don't have the patience to try it 5 times until I make it.I'll stick with Opera.

Ok, nobody answered me so I take it it's crappy and hogs memory

According to my SMP, Opera takes 192k of RAM, while Digia takes only 96k, which is significantly less. As I said, I'm not sure yet, but it's quite awkward to use. I won't uninstall it just yet,I'll test it some more.
@ares:is there a way to fit the content to page like Opera/Opera Mini without zooming out?

Those indications say nothing about real memory usage, are absolutely useless.
Just look at RAM icon.
Opera takes about 7 - 9 MB of RAM, up to 10 - 11, according to what you open, if you load a whole page and use passwords.
On my P990i, I was out of RAM quickly after the start, but it was first beta.
Maybe second is better for RAM.
Basically, P990 is very bad for memory hungry apps.
