This is funny, purchase guys gave me two Sony Ericsson G700s with different colours to choose from. A Silk Bronze and a Sandy Brown for photo shooting. Not sure why they were even asking this kind of question, but I just took all two and shoot’em. At a first glance, you will not even notice it is a touchscreen PDA phone. It is so thin and light in the right size. And then, they told me it is a new UIQ P1i sort of phone. Then I go, oh my goodness. How can Sony Ericsson make such good PDA phones now? And they told me the G900 will be passing to me tomorrow or so….. oh…..
Unboxing. The package included a Battery, a charger, USB cable, non-walkman headset, CD and manual. Yes it is very standard.
Two colour versions, the Sandy Brown on the left and the Silk Bronze on the right. I personally like the Sandy Brown colour mix better. What do you think?
*Edited the colour name according to the offical colour name code*
At the back, you can find the embossed stripes style surface covering the entire back of the phone. It feels nice when you are holding one in your hand. It is however a little bit odd to see the speaker holes at the back though.
The phone comes with a 3.2 mega pixel camera with LED flash located at the back of the phone.
We can find the tiny key lock button for fast unlocking the touch screen. Actually, we can use the good old way to lock and unlock the keypads and the touch screen. Just do the “*” and “upper right button”. The M2 slot is located at below the headphone jack of the phone on the side as well.
We can see the clear and simple keypad layout with two round quick launch buttons for email and notes. Also this is an English keypad version, no extra strokes.
We can select language when turning on the phone for the fist time. Also we can download extra languages from sonyericsson/support.
Yes it has a stylus, but very tiny and thin. The default screen looks like this. At the bottom of the screen, we can find a rolling quick menu. When you click on the edge of either side, it scroll left or right. The reaction is quick. It is a good feature to have.
Touch screen user interface.
You can also set up your shortcuts in a graphical interface way.
The hand writing capturing note function comes in handy. This is the screen for your saved notes.
I practiced to write in the text and graphical mode. I do not know this phone’s hand writing method, so it is pretty hard for me to guess how to write capital letters… Anyway the graphical note is especially good for sending MMS. Kind of cute to do it.
The G700 does not have WiFi and Autofocus. Also it only comes with a 3.2 mega pixel camera. However, comparing to the G900, it comes with an easy to afford price tag. So I think it is a fair game.

Man that looks awesome mate! I saw the G700 and G900 come upon your website and was hoping to see these cool previews by you. I'm looking forward to the G900 one. If I could afford it, I'd get a G900 as soon as possible. I guess I have to save!

The front looks very nice, much better than the G900. Shame about the back though. Looks a bit like corrugated roofing to me. It may of course help bring smiles to people's faces when you aim the camera at them and they see that b*tt-ugly backside...

SAR values really are nothing to worry about. If its been released, then its deemed safe for everyone to use.
