Microsoft is aiming to capture 40 percent of the smartphone market with Windows Mobile by the year 2012, an executive said Tuesday.

The article goes on to say how 11 million smartphones out of 118 million sold in 2007 had the windows mobile operating system and they expect 20 million in 2008

ha they'll be lucky.....and blindly hopeful.

also, those 11 million include both smartphones and PDAs. microsoft's market share in smartphones is still quite low (around 3-4% according to this: http://mobilephonedevelopment.com/archives/507 ), whereas the majority of their sales comes from the dying PDA market.
