ever since I updated my firmware to R8BC004 via SEUS I can't change my wallpaper to full resolution 320x240 jpegs. I can change it to smaller size pics and animated gifs but not full screen pics (not even those from the cam)

strangely, if the cam pics are oriented in the "standard" option, they can be set as a wallpaper, but if they are maximized, an error comes up.

The error says "Memory full. Delete one or more files of your choice." despite having 15mb free on the phone mem and 200mb free on the card.

Another error shows up when i change the theme to "clarity", on of the default themes. It says "file corrupt, cannot be used"

I have tried turning the unit on and off, removing the battery, formatting the memory stick, doing a full master reset many times and transferring the pics to the phone mem to no avail.

is this a firmware bug? or is my phone memory corrupt? i have deleted some protected files using mobyexplorer, could that be the cause?

any help would be greatly appreciated guys. Thanks for taking the time to read.

@joman QL

First thing's first- what's your phone model?
Secondly, the 'memory full' alert usually refers to the deficiency in RAM amount, not free disk space (external or internal). This alert is a usual affair in SE UIQ phones since heavy use of applications may take up a lot of RAM space, not in java-based phones though whereby applications are limited therefore multitasking is not too taxing on the phone memory. One way that I know to solve this problem is to restart your phone. The RAM would be at its maximum after a fresh reboot and it should accomodate your attempt to set your desired wallpaper

oops I forgot to mention my phone is a k770. clearly it's not the ram sir because graphic intensive gif and swf files can be used as wallpapers. maybe it has something to do with the firmware itself.

i tried a reflash using SEUS but the problems are still there. sigh. now i can't get back to the older firmware.

regarding the default Clarity theme not working, I copied it off the phone memory and deleted the wallpaper using Sony Ericsson Theme creator. voila it works! but i can't put any wallpaper using this theme. strange.

as a workaround i just put my desired wallpaper in a working theme like Luminisious using the theme creator. tedious but it gets the job done. hope SE releases a bug free firmware soon.
