The Diamond is actually made of metal?
Poor chap, paint seems to be chipping off for him

yes, all around the diamond is metal, that's why you can put the stylus on its side while not using it, and it stays attracted so you don't loose it
I confirm this phone is super fast with the newest roms, partially because htc has removed some TF3D animations, the more I use it the more I like it! Plus, the new tweaks like using the touch sensitive wheel to scroll in menus, or put the phone upside down to put it in sleep mode, are making a joy to use
Can't wait for what's following (touchxperience)! |

I want one so so badly but am very wary of the battery life. Do the new roms and reduced animations make the battery life any better? Does it easily go for a day without a need to charge? 2 days perhaps even?

I guess it depends on how much you use it.
I'm using mine about 40% of the day compared with 60% using the iphone, a fair amount of that is using the GPS with tomtom 7. I do have wifi turned off unless I need it (on iphone its always on).
At the end of the day I have around 60% of the battery left suggesting it would last a couple of days with my usage, however I always plug my daily-use devices in at night so its never a concern

Thanks @ masseur. As soon as I'm due for an upgrade I think I will take the plunge. Are you using the tweak from XDA-Developers for functions like the accelerometer and scrolling through menus with the scroll key and such? How are good are those? I'm new to XDA and want an "independent" opinion?

no, I haven't tried that yet. I've just used their bootloader to update my firmware to the latest, and radio driver to the one before last (as they say that performs best)
