I don't distrust them, but I can't help thinking they copy SE model names!!
I mean KG800, KF750?? Remind you of anything?
One more example:
Samsung Z710 announced Feb 2006, and Sony Ericsson Z710 announced May 2006.
I have been looking for the Samsung model for a long time. It has a 3 MP CCD camera. Most Google hits point to the P-O-S SE Z710!

I agree with you but think Z710 is not a POS handset. although i won't take it anytime as the specs are lacking, and it's too old now
Maybe we should refer to Samsung M600,P900 and P910 as well
And Off course SE C902/Imobile 902 index comes after Sharp V902SH.
Back to topic:
Why LG always uses names like viewty, secret, chocolate, prada etc when they have their Series and indexes. what's the point in using two names? too redundant/confusing imo. especially that when they made their index it looks/sounds very similar to some of the very successful products of it's competitors.

Many companies do that. You have the Serene, Armani, Sereneta, Katalyst, Ace, BlackJack from Samsung each with a model number too.
Nokia has the Prism.
I guess its easy to remember which is the Viewty than Kxxxx or whatever the model is.

LG and perhaps Samsung are better and should stick to making big screen tvs and other such stuff. Thats what they are best at. I HATE SAMSUNG PHONES though i cant speak for LG never owned one of their phones. Yet. |

Samsung has a huge huge mobile division. There obviously a reason for that.
