Could anyone tell me if G900 has got contacts as in P990? I don't want to give up storing addresses and similar if I upgrade.

I just noticed that I can't even answer calls with my malfunctioning touchscreen, rendering it completely useless. Have anyone stumbled across a replacement touchscreen for the g900, or could I just aswell have burned the money I shelled out?

@Jolly's
You do know your G900 is under SE's warranty right? I would give them a call as you've nothing to loose.

My G900 arrives tomorrow.

Oh, and to say the G900 takes rubbish photo's, well as mentioned the thread for G900 photos certainly shows otherwise......

Yeah, but it's pretty clear that my case isn't covered there. I have sent them an e-mail though, and as you say, I guess hassling them over phone wouldn't hurt.

Im happy for you, it's a great phone and the camera surprised me positively...just keep it away from rain

Hi all,

got my G900 last Saturday, so excited with it i haven't reported in yet It's my first UIQ from SE, love it so far, minus a few glitches here and there. Has frozen only once, and now i know that i have to avoid pressing any button right after turning the phone on, while it's searching for the network: it freezes the phone.

Love the way everything (or almost) is customizable, fits well in the hand though it's a little slippery sometimes (rubber back would have been a great plus). I'm still struggling to activate the task manager with my thumb, i always end up having to use my 2nd hand for that.

One gripe i have is about text input: when writing an sms with multitap, the phone suggests words (that's what i want it to do), but when i want to confirm the suggested word and i press the confirming center, it sends the sms. So i figured i have to press the button down instead, but when i am in a dialog box with multiple lines (like new appointment), pressing down takes me to the 2nd line (eg. Location) instead of confirming the suggested word. Drives me nuts !

Another thing: when inputting in multitap a word with several letters coming from the same key (for example, "common", which has 5 letters coming from key 6 (m, n, o)), how do you skip to the next letter without having to wait 1-2 seconds for the 1st letter to be confirmed? I mean: i press "3" 3 times to get a C, then i press "6" 3 times to get an O, and then i want to confirm that O and start typing the M, but when i press the right D-pad, it just confirms the entire suggested word (not necessarily the one i want) !!

Has anyone figured out an efficient way to deal with this, or do we have to confirm everything by pressing on the screen?

Note: same kind of thing happens with text prediction + HW recognition turned on, but then to confirm you have to press right instead of down because the suggested words appear vertically and not horizontally (lack of consistency !!).

Sorry for the long question, hope it makes sense and someone can help with a good tip.

Well UIQ interface is a bit difficult to use with fingers all the time. There are tiny and small objects that cannot be pressed with fingers easily

A question a little off topic.
I'm running VISTA 32bit and i'm unable to install PC suite. It installs 3/4 and then i get an error and it rolls back. Really frustrating:-(. I've read some threads on this topic, but it didn't help me at all. Does somebody know a way to install it?

What version of PC Suite you are installing. it should me PC Suite for smart Phones and the last version is 1.5.8. am using it on a Vista 32 laptop, no problem at all. If your UAC is on, right click on the PC Suite setup file and select Run As Administrator. hope this helps you.

Hi all,
My G900 has arrived yippeee. I LOVE it, went out to Bath city for something and used Tom Tom on it and it worked a treat, the speaker is louder then the P1i!! And I just can't get over the difference, by adding the D pad and changing the interface it's an utter joy to use, I kept taking the stylus out when I didn't need to haha. love it, fantastic. And it looks normal. Gonna get the WiFi set up this evening, and also set up the order of internet connections. But so far for me I recommend the G900 over the P1i easily. Oh and the screen is great, I can actually read it in sunlight now! And it looks sharper and better then the P1i's does.
