Driver problems on K850i |

I am trying to debrand a SE K850i for a mate who doesn't have a PC.
I have downloaded the SE PC Suite and Update service first of all.
PC Suite works fine, but the update service wont work, when I press the C button and plug in the USB cable I get an error message saying
"Cannot Install this Hardware
There was a problem installing this hardware:
SEMC Flash device
An error occurred during the installation of this device
Fatal error during installation"
I've also downloaded the DaVinci client and I get exactly the same error message
I've deleted the SE Update service and DaVinci and then re-installed them but I'm still getting no joy.
It seems as if something is preventing the drivers installation process from completing, or maybe the drivers aren't compatible.
Any ideas?
thanks

seems you dont have the drivers installed in your pc.
install this one: http://ma3.extranet.sonyerics[....]ic/k850_usb_signed_drivers.zip

Thanks for your quick reply tranced.
I've unzipped them, where do I need to move all the files to? Or do I just leave them in the unzipped folder? |

leave them in the unzipped folder, turn off the phone, press and hold the C key on the phone, then connect the usb cable. then the "new hardware wizard" will pop up and all you have to do is to use those drivers you downloaded.

I just tried it but the Install new hardware wizard did not appear, instead I got the same error message I received in my first post in this thread.
I then started the Install New Hardware Wizard manually, it started to install the drivers but then stopped and the same error message appeared.
This is starting to concern me.
Any ideas whats causing the problem?

You need to unzip them first, as the Add/New Hardware in WinXP will not detect the phone drivers when ZIPPED.
Thanks Trance I myself will give this a try.
