Ok, this isn't official news, but it's as official as I can get

Our Nokia rep, who think's we're great (:D) told me something intruiqing today.

He's said the N96 hasn't been given the complete green light yet (I'm guessing Nokia wanted to get something that resembles the real thing out in time for MWC).

And the delays are due to them adding (at the last minute) a Xenon flash, ala N82! Finally, an all in one phone with almost nothing (bar BlackBerry ) missing!

From what I can tell of the marketing stuff he left for the N82, Xenon flashes seem to be Nokia's next big push from now on, which is fine by me

R u sure?

But i would have expected the Following enhancement Form the N96
Battery same e61i(1500mah)(will there be any changes to this battery included )
3 Inch Vga Screen
Premium materials (blend of 8xxx series with N96 specification)(the material seem to be smudgy)

But over all the design has be given face lift,But i expected a little more From nokia n96.But i think the specification has been kept in order so that there may be video or imaging flagship phone from nokia.Thats why they r holding somethings.Or may be to give the n78 some edge with better battery or something

They could have still added atleast a 1050mAh battery or 1100mAh battery to N96,but anyway it getting a Xenon Flash is still cool i guess.

One step at a time. For now, the spec it's got plus the Xenon flash is enough for this generation.

N96i will prolly be the time for upgrading the screen, but given VGA screens on non touch screen phones are stupidly, stupidly rare, I don't expect them to do it.

Really though, it's a pretty good all-rounder, you can't expect EVERYTHING, and no matter what they make, I bet you're the one person who can think of something else to add to it

I'd rather have longer battery life to watch TV via DVB-H than have a Xenon flash

As time goes on, components get smaller. By the time this is out, everything that was in the N95 will generally be a few millimeters smaller, thus making it possible to put 16GB memory and a Xenon flash in.

Ya atleast im the one person who can think of whtelse to add, with out which technology and innovation would die.

BTW if u have noticed N96 is not a step up, if u have noticed the camera lens has been reduced from 5.6 to 5.2mm same as k850i, which is very bad news, and they removed the 3d accelerator.Ya of course common people may not know this, but not a technical expert.

As far as i know, Nokia had only used a different CPU chip. 3d accelerator alongside with the sound and video DSP were all integrated on the SMT CPU chip in N96. Just think of this: if it has no 3d accelerator, we shouldn't expect N96 to record/play VGA@ 30fps video - as this task is only possible with an accelerator slapped in it
