Shake UP for Sony Ericsson
It seems Dicky is making some sweeping changes in his new role - he doesn't hang around.
Sony Ericsson’s global marketing VP, Dee Dutta, resigned from his post this week.
Dutta’s exit comes as new president Hideki ‘Dick’ Komiyama starts to look at where he can make the business more efficient, after finishing a broad review of the manufacturer’s operations in different countries.
Rumours of Dutta’s exit first emerged on Monday last week, but no-one at Sony Ericsson was able to confirm his departure until an internal memo last Thursday said he is leaving the business on Monday 31 March.
Dutta, who led the manufacturer’s branding and sponsorship, has been at the company for almost six years and is the most senior marketing executive at the company.
He is the latest marketing executive to leave the global business, following Julian Mack, head of sponsorship, who left just before Christmas and Andrew Warner, a senior brand executive, who left to join LG last month.
Dean Taylor, a mid-ranking executive in charge of promotions and content left earlier this month to join Nokia. Sal D’Angelo, responsible for Sony Ericsson’s retail business, left in January.

These things happen all the time...Hedeki was roped in to streamline some functions and he's doing that exactly. Hopefully they can start intergrating the design centres so that we can get some of that Japanese goodness in EMEA.
