The main advantage of 16M color Nokia screens is.. you got the color shading soooo smoothly, and I admire that, but in the term of saturation, brightness/contrast, viewing angles etc newest SE wins easily.

I agree with this thing. they're bright, but the contrast ratio is weaker compared even to a 262K Samsung or SE. people who had a experiences on TV technology will definitely say N95/N82 screen is simply not the best, nor better just because it has 16Million color renderings

To be honest comparing all the phones I've come across the best screen for me is on a fairly cheap mid-range phone - the Nokia 6300.

Of course, coz 6300 is much better than N95. 6300 is one of the best Nokia's screen and I really like the way it performs too. It's on a par with newest SE like K770, but in the term of color reproduction and brightness/contrast ratio, is still behind the SE's leader (S500/W580, K850, K660 - K770's slightly worse). [addsig]

Don't forget that the 16M Screen Colours does sucksmuch more of the Battery's life than the 252k Screen Colours.

Well I'd say the 6300 is still better than some of those others, just comparing it to the K850 and its still better.

Compare it in a bright environment coz K850 light sensor reduces the screen brightness up to 50% in indoor/dark environment. [addsig]

Yeah true, there's no adjustment auto or manual on the Nokia 6300 screen.

I won't give you any other choice of phone (because there are plenty of them and all with their pros and cons) just stick around with k850 (at least till something new comes out of the shell).

Well I've given the K850i all the chances I'm going to, the first one was ok but completely packed up after 10 days, the others they sent me out looked liked they'd been assembled by Mattel.

the n82 screen has the potential to get as bright as the n95 screen. It is just limited by the OS. While running some programs, my n82 screen turns soo bright that i can use it as a flash light lol. you can easily try this by putting the n82 on silence mode then have somebody calling you, the screen would start flashing on (very bright) and off.

The n82 screen has a very good quality and i think its bright enough as is. The build quality is superb and solid.

potential. ???? in that case all screens in the world have (more or less) a potential to shine like the sun... njjjaaaaa, i had my N82 on maxium brightness and still it was crappy.

N95 have brighter/better screen then N82, but still far away from K850

16 millions colors is so overestimated

What about Samsung G600? It lacks of Xenon flash of course but I do think it's a very good cam-phone. And themes are now implemented in the phone (and editable/customizable).

The 16M color screen is awesome. It's Samsung's, and its quality is far beyond what Nokia's 16M color screens can achieve.

SE should be coming out with phones that is WVGA with 5mp with optical zoom, CCD lens at least. Not some low quality 5mp lens with crappy digital zoom and lousy build phones. Lots of cracking noises on my k850i, the camera side cover is loosing and the keypad area is loosing also. What a shame.
