Thats a matter of opinion. When i was going from my k850 to n82, i thought the n82 was ugly looking. When i actualy got the phone and held it i was blown away by the build quality and how solid the phone feels. now i think alot of thinking was done by nokia when they made this phone because everything about it makes sense. I actualy think its a good looking phone. The n82 outperforms the n95 in almost all aspects but the screen size.
The n82 has soo much build in ram that it almost impossible to make the phone slow down. you can even watch the you tube videos of people trying to run over 70 programs on they symbian n82 phones and the phone still runs without a problem.
To be honest, the only thing about the k850 that i think outperforms the n82 is the screen brightness. for some reason the n82 screen is able to produce the same brightness of the k850 but the current firmware prevents it. |

I had N82, im glad i didnt kept it. Sure its a good phone, BUT the joystick and the dull screen destroy the whole feeling

n82 here aswell. Gave my slow and faulty k850 to my missis and she can live with it.
Wifi is a major plus with the n82 and the pics arent bad at all. This maybe my 1st nokia that will last me for a for a few months.
Id suggest you listen to us lot and try it. |

5mp only means bigger, not better than 3.2mpix. All depends on the hardware and driver.

more megapixels just means bigger resolution bigger better sensors and lens must be used to get the quality of more megapixels, mobile phone manufactures use the smallest & cheapest sensors & lens they can to keep production costs low, and to keep the phones small in size, adding more megapixels costs them peanuts and they don't have to use bigger more expensive hardware to just cram in a few more megapixels.
if you go around buying cams & mobile phones because they have the most megapixels you are being badly conned and the manufactures are laughing at you.
max for a compact mobile phone is 3.2megapixels
max for a compact camera is 6megapixels
max for a DSLR is probley about 16megapixels.

are you saying that a k800 is better than a N82 and a K850?if yes prove it........i've already maid a comparasion between the K850 and K800 and have a comparasion between the k800 sensor and K850 sensor .....to make it short k850 is still a better camera with a better sensor |

yes the k800i has a massive advantage being only 3.2megapixel it's pictures aren't grainy or full of pixel errors because the sensor isn't overloaded, the k850i has a newer better sensor yes but because it's overloaded with megapixels it doesn't perform as well as it should so it's just as good as the 1 the k800 uses, also the k850 has better image processing than the k800i thats why the pics are clearer, i use a tuned camdriver now i have better image processing colours are perfect, it can produce perfect exposure time no washed out skys, the older camdriver (2.9) of the k850 uses extactly the same colour saturation value as i'm using on the k800 only difference with the k850 it caused colour fringing & se had to remove it, on the k800 it works perfectly. off the topic of cameras i've used my k800i everyday taken it everywhere with me for 10months not 1 problem but only 1 small problem a couple specs of dust under the lens, the k850 would have fallen apart in half that time or given up completey, the amount of threads i see like this 1 help my k850i has fallen apart, the touch keys are broke, it keeps restarting.

The W910i is awesome. It's got 9/10 from real user reviews at GadgetStylist.com
http://www.gadgetstylist.com/products/view/41/sonyericsson-w910i
However it's more about the music than the camera.
The K770i has a decent 3.2 camera but is much smaller than the K850i - none of those fiddly touch buttons either!

anybody went from a k850i to a viewty?
looking at the N82, its around £260 to £280 whilst the viewty is around £50 cheaper |

found some interesting comments on the viewty:
PROS
I love the touchscreen interface - so far the novelty hasn't worn off. The haptic feedback (vibration) when you push a key is brilliant
The video recording is fantastic - very very good quality.
Video Playback (DivX) is a great addition.
Fits nicely in my pocket and looks very cool
CONS
The camera is rubbish in anything other than excellent outdoor lighting. I was buying this as a 5mp camera phone and while outdoor shots can be very good, anything in low light is poor. My k800i 3.2MP camera performed much better in almost all circumstances
Some functionality is very unintuitive. For example half the menus allow the touch screen scrolling (where you drag your figure up or down the screen to scroll down or up through the menu respectively) and some do not.
e.g. when you are browsing artists in you music you can touch screen scroll but once you go into an artist to see the songs you can't. then you either have to tap the bar on the right to go up or down (as you would on a computer screen) or use the fiddly jog wheel at the back.
It just is not consistent
Although there is functional support for > 2gb cards, it is not fully supported (see other threads). I have an 8gb card and it works with music and videos but is a delay in accessing the data.
e.g. if I go into my music folder it takes between 10-20 secs to access the folder. Once I am in it is fine but it is a bit annoying every time to wait.
Processing power on the phone seems to be relatively weak. There can sometimes be lag between pressing an icon and it actually registering a response. It is nowhere near as smooth as e.g. an iphone although those two phones cannot be compared fairly.
Limits on the phone are rubbish. e.g. 300 text messages including Inbox AND sent messages. and thats actual messages so if you sent a text that uses 2 SMSs then it will take up 2 of your phone allowance. Also only 5 memos are available.
There is a severe lack of themes and the only way to get around this is to use the hacking measures as described on this site but at this point in time I'm personally not confident enough to try it.
There seems to be no way to scroll through photos full screen without the zoom and left+right options staying on the screen. You would have thought that being a touchscreen phone you could view the photos on the beautiful 3 inch screen and flick through them with your finger
Firmware updates that could fix some of these problems seem very unlikely as LG seem to have no interest in supporting the consumer after the product is sold.
Had: two ericsson's, two startac's, samsung a100, panasonic, nokia 7600, nokia 8100, sony s700, w800i, k750i, k810i, now k850i |
