just wondering what's the dimension small enough to be put in as a contact's picture ID on the phone. I've been trying to put pictures from my K750 to K850 for my contacts but K850 complains that "the picture is too big, cannot add to contact"! how small does it want? I already make it very small (40x60 pixel) and K850 still says they are too big. nuts! but when I put an untouched pic (file name is DSC something), the phone will happily put the pic in contact while the size of the file is obviously 10 times the size of the tiny pics that I make.

can anyone help? I'm pretty frustrated on having to resize the pics back and forth. why can't just K850 happily resized the pics as K750 does?

plus, one of the pic directly taken from the K750's camera (adding the pic directly from contact by taking the picture that instant) measures 160x120 pixels. isn't that weird? a picture measures 40x60 is supposedly "too large" compared the pic that measures 160x120 pixels!

Hi I have a K850 and cant find the optimal size photo for my Contact ID. I've tried following the sizes posted here but none seem to work. The photos appear very small and funny enough even if i add a 176x220 or a 900x900 pixel photo, the photo is the same size regardless how many pixels it has?
Has somebody found the best photo size or can offer any ideas on how to obtain a full screen photo when calling or receiving texts? Thanks

On the K850 I use .jpg images of 224x192 for contacts. Pictures of this size seem to fit without the phone resizing them for display.

Regarding the "too big" error message, it's probably due to the amount of .jpg compression you are using. When I first got the K850 it didn't have any problems with my contacts pictures, but after a trip to the SE service center where they upgraded my firmware it started giving that sort of error message for my contact pictures. I was only able to get the phone to use the pictures after I resaved them with lower .jpg compression quality. My image editor was originally set to save at 90% quality (bigger .jpg files) and the phone wouldn't take the pictures. When I reduced the quality to about 75% the K850 stopped having problems with my pictures.

On my W910, the contact picture will be displayed as a small thumbnail if the photo is larger than 10 kb. So I resize/crop the photo to about 256x256 pix at 72dpi and increase jpeg compression so the size becomes less than 10 kb.
